The Houston Rockets are one of the hottest teams in the Association, and they’ll look to extend their five-game win streak when the Denver Nuggets come to H-Town.

Cameron Johnson has seen sharp increases in his playing time and scoring with Christian Braun out, and my Nuggets vs. Rockets predictions expect him to stay hot.

Here are my best free NBA picks for this clash of Western Conference heavyweights at Toyota Center on November 21.

Nuggets vs Rockets prediction

Nuggets vs Rockets best bet: Cameron Johnson Over 11.5 points (-120)

Cameron Johnson’s role on offense has severely diminished in his first season with the Denver Nuggets, but he’s in a great spot to cash this modest scoring line.

Johnson is averaging a career-low 8.6 points per game this season. Through his first 10 healthy games of the season with Christian Braun in the lineup, Johnson averaged 7.7 points across 26.1 minutes. But over his last two games with Braun on the sideline, Johnson averaged 16.5 points across 34.5 minutes.

In his first 10 games, Johnson attempted just 7.5 shots per game, but he’s taken 20 total across his last two. In that span, Johnson has converted 12 of 20 shots, including a blistering 6 of 10 from beyond the arc.

Johnson — a 3-point specialist — will face a Houston Rockets team allowing opponents to shoot 35.8% from downtown and surrendering the fifth-most 3-point attempts per game. I’ll gladly take the Over on a line this small for a player who should see north of 30 minutes in a high-scoring game.

Nuggets vs Rockets same-game parlay

Aaron Gordon is averaging a career-best 20.3 points per game this season, and his scoring line is too juicy to pass up.

AG has scored 17+ in seven straight and nine of 12 games this season, including four of six on the road.

Denver owns the best offensive rating in the Association at 121.7, and Houston isn’t far behind in third with 121.3. Denver has hit the Over in three of its last four, and Houston has gone Over in six of its last seven.

The Nuggets and Rockets have hit the Over in three straight head-to-head matchups as well.
