Finally with proper spacing around Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, the Sixers are off to a great start at 7-1 and sporting the NBA's best defensive rating.

Tonight, the Brooklyn Nets host the Philadelphia 76ers at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Philadelphia currently sits in first place in the Eastern Conference, but Brooklyn will be up there when the team eventually figures things out. With that said, this should be a fun game to watch and tonight’s NBA betting odds reflect that.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

The Sixers are off to a great start to this season, as they are now 7-1 (5-3 ATS) and have won five games in a row coming into this one. Last night’s win over the Wizards wasn’t pretty, but Philadelphia was able to survive a 60-point performance from Bradley Beal. Now, the Sixers have a winnable game against the Kevin Durant-less Nets, and they have to be looking forward to the opportunity.

On Tuesday, the Nets absolutely whooped the Jazz in Brooklyn, winning by 34 points as five-point underdogs. But Utah then went and lost to the Knicks, showing that the team simply isn’t ready to play at a high level right now. Also, Kyrie Irving went absolutely wild in that victory for Brooklyn, scoring 29 points on an impressive 12-of-19 shooting from the floor. Jarrett Allen was similarly impressive for the Nets, chipping in 19 points, 18 boards, three steals and two blocks in 32 minutes of action.

Don’t expect either player to be quite as good in this one, though. The Sixers are currently at the top of the league in defensive rating, and they will come into this game with a sound plan for how to stop the Nets’ offense.

PREDICTION: Sixers -1.5 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

With no Durant, Irving is going to have to do the bulk of the scoring here. The problem is that he should see a lot of time being defended by Ben Simmons, who has the size and athleticism to force him to take tough shots. That means it could be an inefficient evening for Irving, even if he does end up putting up a lot of points. And if Irving isn’t shooting the ball well, there should be a domino effect to some degree. His teammates would not be able to easily feed off of him the way they did vs. the Jazz last game.

Also, Allen should be able to body up Joel Embiid to some extent in this game. That means that Philadelphia’s focal point offensively will also be bothered tonight.

PREDICTION: Under 226.5 (-105)

Player Prop Pick

In Brooklyn’s win over Utah, Caris LeVert had 24 points on 18 shots and only played 21 minutes because the game ended up being a blowout. With Durant on the sidelines, LeVert is this team’s second-best scoring option. That means he’ll get a ton of looks at the basket in this one, especially considering how fast the Nets play — they’re fifth in the league in pace.

Even if  LeVert somehow ends up struggling in this game, the value is too good to pass up. Brooklyn is counting on him to score at least 20 over the next couple of games, so you can do a whole lot worse than needing 18.

PREDICTION: Caris LeVert Over 17.5 points (-104)

  • Under 226.5 (-105)
