Prop pick #1: Bryce Harper 2+ H/R/RBI
I'm turning to the Philadelphia Phillies superstar to save his team's season. Bryce Harper is 5-for-18 (.262 xBA) with a .446 xSLG against Tyler Mahle in his career, and he had been putting together quality plate appearances over the last couple months of the regular season.
Rocking an .894 OPS across August and September, the veteran is in a good spot to make an impact today against Mahle. He's been mashing against righties all season too, ending the year with a .997 OPS in that spot.
Mahle's 37% hard-hit rate leaves a lot to be desired as well. Expect Harper to get his at the plate today and help Philadelphia even the series.
Prop pick #2: Cristopher Sanchez Over 17.5 Outs
Cristopher Sanchez has gone over this number in 10 of his last 11 starts, and that's a big enough sample size for us to feel confident about this one. He's the ace, and after the Phillies' bullpen blew Game 1, expect Don Mattingly to lean heavily on the lefty this afternoon.
Across 147 plate appearances against him, the Atlanta Braves own just a .241 xBA, a lowly .296 xwOBA, and they're getting struck out at a 25% clip. That's good enough for me to ride with him.
Prop pick #3: Ronald Acuna Jr. 2+ H/R/RBI
If there's one hitter who will get to Sanchez today, it'll likely be Ronald Acuna Jr., who owns a .388 xBA and .770 xSLG against the lefty.
Yes, he's 0-for-12 in his last three games, including a hitless performance in Game 1. But Acuna boasts a knack for coming up big in clutch moments, and Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series fits the bill.
I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt today, and would play this to 55%.
