The Seattle Mariners and Cincinnati Reds meet this afternoon in the series finale of a three-game set.

Brady Singer hasn’t always thrived against Seattle, and my Mariners vs. Reds predictions expect him to struggle once more today.

Keep reading for my MLB picks for Thursday, April 17.

Mariners vs Reds prediction

My Mariners vs Reds best bet: Brady Singer Over 2.5 earned runs (+125 at bet365)

Brady Singer has pitched well since coming over to the Cincinnati Reds in an offseason trade with the Kansas City Royals. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 3.18 ERA in three starts, striking out 18 hitters in 17 innings while allowing just six free passes.

However, he didn’t fare too well against the Seattle Mariners last season. Seattle tagged him for four earned runs across five frames. Singer has also surrendered Over 2.5 earned runs in back-to-back outings, giving up three to the Milwaukee Brewers and another three to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

For his career, Singer has a 3.60 ERA versus the Mariners, allowing 12 earned runs across 30 innings. This current Seattle lineup is batting .264 against the righty, with the likes of Cal Raleigh, Jorge Polanco, Julio Rodriguez, and Luke Raley all having success when he’s on the hill.

Considering the recent trends for Singer and how he’s done against Seattle, the Over looks like a perfect bet here.

Mariners vs Reds same-game parlay (SGP)

Brady Singer Over 2.5 earned runs

Cal Raleigh Over 0.5 hits

Gavin Lux Over 0.5 hits

As previously mentioned, Singer is a guy whom Raleigh has swung it very well against. While the Mariners catcher is only batting .217 this season, he has a .317 average versus Singer, going 5-for-14 with a pair of doubles and one home run.

Raleigh has at least one hit in four of his last six contests, going 2-for-4 on Wednesday. He’ll keep it rolling in the season finale and continue his success with Singer on the bump. Raleigh shouldn’t have any issues registering a hit.

Gavin Lux has been one of the Reds’ best hitters after joining in the offseason from the Los Angeles Dodgers. He’s slashing .276 in 18 games with 16 hits in 58 at-bats. Lux hasn’t gone deep yet, but he is spraying the baseball all over the diamond.

Lux has cashed the Over in hits in three consecutive appearances, and he’s 5-for-7 so far in this series. For his career, Lux is batting .462 against the Mariners.
