Detroit Tigers righty Jack Flaherty was sharp in his past start against the high-powered New York Yankees, notching seven strikeouts across five frames, and the Cleveland Guardians have an above-average strikeout percentage against righties for the campaign.
While game-to-game inconsistency has been part and parcel with Flaherty this season, he’s been partial to punchouts with a fifth-ranked 10.56 K/9 and 10th-ranked 27.8 K% among qualified starters.
Additionally, Flaherty’s 29.6 called-plus-swinging-strike percentage ranks eighth.
