It’ll be difficult for the Kansas City Royals to muster much offensively, especially in their current form against southpaws. They’ve hit .218 against lefties in September and grade out even worse by xBA.
The Guardians quietly rank fifth in SLG and sixth in runs this month. They’re firing on all cylinders, and there’s no reason to rest hitters with the team off until next weekend.

I can’t get to the 8.5 total, and I would recommend the Under to 54%.
The Guardians have played to the Under in 14 of Messick’s 15 road starts. While this one could be a little shorter than usual, the Guardians still boast an elite bullpen backing him up. And I doubt they get too casual with their usage since the team gets the entire week to rest.
The Guardians get a more advantageous matchup against Daniel Lynch and an underwhelming bullpen, but this is an afternoon game and carries no weight. They’ll just be looking to get through it.
Guardians vs Royals home run prediction: Jo Adell
Jo Adell stands out in a significant way.
He's been hammering left-handed pitching this year, hitting .314 with a .266 ISO and nearly 50% hard-hit rate.
Lynch is getting a pitching outs line of 15.5, so he’s expected to get plenty of runway, opening the door for multiple Adell at-bats against the lefty.
