The World Series shifts to the West Coast as the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers head to Dodger Stadium with the series tied 1-1. Game 3 goes down Monday, October 27, with LA listed as -200 favorites and the total sitting at 8 runs.

Toronto turns to veteran Max Scherzer on the mound, but my Blue Jays vs. Dodgers prediction is that Los Angeles’ lineup will be too much to handle as the Dodgers look to take control of the series.

Blue Jays vs Dodgers Game 3 predictions

Who will win Blue Jays vs Dodgers Game 3

The Los Angeles Dodgers lineup was elite at Dodger Stadium with a second-ranked wOBA and league-leading ISO, and starter Tyler Glasnow has been lights out during the playoffs.

The Toronto Blue Jays will have difficulty keeping pace because I’m not expecting veteran Max Scherzer to pitch as well as he did in Game 4 of the ALCS.

Blue Jays vs Dodgers best bet

Dodgers -1.5 (+110)

The Los Angeles Dodgers' offense was money at home during the regular season with a second-ranked wOBA and league-leading ISO, and Game 3 starter Tyler Glasnow has been brilliant in the playoffs with a 0.68 ERA, WHIP, and 2.47 xFIP, too.

I’m anticipating another strong outing from Glasnow after he finished the regular season with respective 3.19, 1.13, and 3.72 marks.

Additionally, while Toronto Blue Jays veteran Max Scherzer won Game 4 in the ALCS, he also posted a 9.00 ERA, 1.80 WHIP, and 4.61 xFIP across his final six regular-season starts.

Of course, the Blue Jays were also a different team south of the border. Toronto went 40-41 on the highway during the regular season with its ISO dropping from seventh at home to 20th away from the Rogers Centre.

The Dodgers are going to put too many runs on the board for the Blue Jays to keep up in Game 3.

Blue Jays vs Dodgers Game 3 same-game parlay (SGP)

Even with Toronto being less potent on the road, I’m still expecting the Blue Jays to rebound offensively after being held to just a single run on four hits in Game 2. As highlighted, Glasnow outpitched his xFIP in the regular season and during the postseason, and his 93.3% strand rate in the playoffs is unsustainably high.

Additionally, neither the Toronto nor the Los Angeles bullpen has been consistently effective during the playoffs. The Blue Jays' relievers sport a 5.43 ERA, and the Dodgers check in with an even higher 6.16 mark.

Blue Jays vs Dodgers SGP

  • Over 8
  • Freddie Freeman anytime home run

Blue Jays vs Dodgers home run pick for Game 3

Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman has faced Scherzer 64 times during his career and has a trio of home runs and a high-end .236 ISO. The reigning World Series MVP has also hit five bombs with a .227 ISO over the past two postseasons.

Blue Jays vs Dodgers weather

Expect a mild evening starting in the mid-to-upper 60s°F around first pitch and slipping to the low 60s by late innings. After some morning low clouds, skies turn mostly clear through the game with dry conditions and only a light breeze. There are no rain issues anticipated and visibility and field conditions should be excellent.

The cooler night air and any lingering marine influence slightly increase air density, which can trim a bit of carry on deep fly balls, modestly favoring pitchers and outfield defense over pure home-run power. With a light wind, command should be steady and breaking balls should bite well, rewarding starters who live on precision and late movement. Offensively, line-drive and gap contact plays, plus team speed, could be more valuable than waiting for the long ball.

Look for managers to lean into run prevention, aggressive outfield positioning, and high-leverage bullpen matchups late.
