Today's baseball betting slate includes the series finale between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago White Sox.

Alejandro Kirk has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season, and my Blue Jays predictions suggest that today's pitching matchup makes him a strong bet to be a factor offensively.

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: All eyes on Alejandro

Alejandro Kirk Over 1.5 total bases (+105 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays look for another series win with a victory this afternoon against the Chicago White Sox. The birds are sending Chris Bassitt to the mound, while Chicago responds with right-hander Adrian Houser

Houser has had an impressive start to his season, sporting a 2.15 ERA through five starts this season. However, his underlying numbers suggest there’s some regression to come to those numbers, and I expect the tables to turn today against the Jays.

Firstly, Houser gives up a lot of hard contact, ranking in the 24th percentile in hard-hit rate. The Jays have feasted on pitchers with this type of profile this season, with batters who’ve been crushing the baseball all year.

Houser's .253 expected batting average ranks him in the 45th percentile in baseball, which doesn't bode well against a lineup that ranks in the Top 3 in hits and xBA. Additionally, the righty has struggled mightily in his two career starts against Toronto. He has a dreadful 9.58 ERA while allowing 12 runs in 10 1/3 innings over those appearances.

One of the Jays who gives Houser fits is Toronto’s Alejandro Kirk. The Jays catcher has owned Houser, going a perfect 6-for-6 against him throughout his career, and I anticipate similar success tonight with the way he’s been swinging the bat lately. Overall, Kirk is batting .348 with a .988 OPS in June and has finally seen his hard-hit balls turn into extra bases.

The power isn't a mirage either. Kirk ranks in the 98th percentile in hard-hit rate and is averaging 92.6 mph off the bat, placing him in the 92nd percentile. This has led to eight extra-base hits this month, resulting in an average of 2.4 collected bases per game, which is nearly a full base more than today’s posted number, and is paying plus-money (+105).

Considering Houser is prone to hard contact and Kirk has been hitting everything thrown over the plate, I expect a big afternoon for the Jays catcher.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Alejandro Kirk Over 1.5 total bases

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 total bases

Bo Bichette Over 1.5 total bases

I’ll continue to fade the Sox starter and take Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to go Over 1.5 total bases. He’s heating up, averaging nearly 2.0 bases per game over his last 12 outings with seven extra-base hits over that span. His hard-hit rate should also play up against a pitcher like Houser.

Lastly, let's close with Bo Bichette. He’s gone Over this number in four of his last five outings with extra base hits in each of those games, averaging 4.0 bases per contest in that stretch.
