We’re on Cloud 9!

The Toronto Blue Jays have now won nine games in a row after taking the opener of their series against the Chicago White Sox.

Toronto powered its way to another win with three home runs, but don’t overlook the fact that it got another solid performance from a starting pitcher, and next up is Chris Bassitt.

My Blue Jays predictions break down why the veteran right-hander has the stuff to mow down the White Sox and lead the Jays to their first 10-game winning streak since 2015.

Blue Jays predictions for July 8

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: C-Bass Shines

Chris Bassitt Over 5.0 strikeouts (-105 at BetVictor)

Last night’s win was a perfect encapsulation of this run by the Toronto Blue Jays, as they got home runs from Joey Loperfido, Nathan Lukes, and Addison Barger.

It really is a next-man-up mentality.

They also received six solid innings from starting pitcher Jose Berrios, who allowed just one run on two hits.

Now, it’s Chris Bassitt’s turn.

Boasting a variety of different pitches, the veteran right-hander ranks in the 90th percentile in average exit velocity and the 83rd in hard-hit rate.

When Bassitt gets in a groove, he can sit down batters in bunches.

It also means he’s done a solid job of racking up the Ks, as Bassitt is striking out 23.7% of batters faced this season.

He’s coming off a start where he punched out nine New York Yankees, and Bassitt faced this same Chicago White Sox lineup just back on June 22, where he limited them to one run on three hits while striking out seven.

Don’t be shocked if he replicates that performance against a White Sox team that ranks dead last in batting average and OPS vs. right-handed pitching.

Bassitt has a strikeout prop sitting at 5.0 — a number he’s eclipsed in seven of his last 11 starts.

He’ll pitch deep into this game, which means plenty of opportunities for Ks.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Chris Bassitt Over 5.5 strikeouts

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 1.5 total bases

Bo Bichette Over 1.5 total bases

Aaron Civale ranks in the 22nd percentile in xERA, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette both sport impressive numbers against him from his time with Tampa Bay and Cleveland.

Vladdy is 5-for-14 with two home runs in his career vs. Civale, good for a .424 xBA and an .835 xSLG, while Bo is 4-for-16 with a homer, a .421 xBA, and a .776 xSLG.

Keep it simple: add Over 1.5 total bases for both Blue Jays sluggers tonight.

It's not an interesting story. Seriously.<
