Alejandro Kirk has hit in three straight outings, and my Toronto Blue Jays predictions vs. the Tampa Bay Rays for Sunday afternoon believe he’ll keep swinging a hot bat in this game with at least a single to keep a streak alive.

Blue Jays predictions for May 25

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Beam him up

Alejandro Kirk Over 0.5 singles (-140 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays will try to avoid the sweep this afternoon and, with a win today, get back to a .500 record on the season.

Toronto certainly has an advantage in the pitching matchup with Chris Bassitt’s 2.83 ERA going up against Ryan Pepiot’s 3.99 ERA.

Pepiot’s underlying numbers are not impressive either. He ranks in the 20th percentile with a .273 xBA against and is below the 40th percentile in most major pitching metrics this season.

The Tampa Bay Rays starter is also a contact pitcher, registering just 13 strikeouts over his last four starts, usually relying on fly-ball outs.

As a result, I’m backing one of the more consistent contact hitters on the Jays to record a hit in this game, and that’s Alejandro Kirk

I’m specifically betting on that hit being a single since Kirk is a singles-hitting machine, with 83% of his hits being for 90 feet. Moreover, the Jays' backstop has recorded a hit in three straight outings and is batting .333 in his last 20 games with 20 singles in that span.

He’s seeing the ball extremely well this season, ranking in the 89th percentile with a .296 xBA.

Additionally, Kirk went 2-for-3 against Pepiot when these two squared off on May 14. He took him deep for a home run and hit a single as well.

I expect similar success this afternoon.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Alejandro Kirk Over 0.5 singles

Ryan Pepiot Under 5.5 strikeouts

Blue Jays moneyline

I’ll fade Pepiot’s strikeout prop and take Under 5.5 Ks. He’s been Under this number in four of his last five starts, averaging 3.2 punchouts per game. Additionally, Toronto has the third-lowest K-rate in baseball at 19.5%.

For the final leg of the SGP, I’ll take the Blue Jays on the moneyline. Toronto has the clear advantage on the mound and will be desperate to avoid a sweep. Plus, the Rays have lost in each of the last four starts made by Pepiot.
