The Florida Panthers (53%) have piled up shots and chances with Seth Jones on the ice, but it hasn't led to any results.
My Panthers vs. Kings prediction is that Jones will hit the scoresheet for the first time this season in Los Angeles.
Let's break it all down with my NHL picks for Tuesday, October. 6.
Panthers vs Kings prediction: Panthers moneyline
The Florida Panthers are off to a 1-2 start but have quietly played very well, and I like them to 55%.
They have controlled 68% of the expected goals at 5-on-5 and posted a net xG of +1.14 per 60 minutes, ranking fourth in the league.
Poor finishing has made the difference in a couple of one-goal games, and the Los Angeles Kings look like the perfect opponent to change that.
Darcy Kuemper and Anton Forsberg both struggled in their starts, allowing nearly eight more goals than expected. As a result, the Kings rank dead last in save percentage.
They won’t continue to be that bad, but this is a good opportunity for Florida to pounce while it is down.

Panthers vs Kings combo
I’m combining Florida on the moneyline with Sam Reinhart and Brady Tkachuk to each record their first points of the season.
Reinhart and Tkachuk rank No. 1 and No. 2 on the Panthers in scoring chances thus far. Both players live around the net and create high volumes of opportunities from prime scoring locations.
They are skating together at 5-on-5 and on the top power play, providing heavy correlation between the two.
Reinhart also played center in the last game in Aleksander Barkov's absence. The Panthers helped insulate him and his linemates with more offensive zone starts than any other line, which only helps their cause.

- Sam Reinhart Over 0.5 points
- Brady Tkachuk Over 0.5 points
TOP PICK
Panthers vs Kings player prop: Seth Jones Over 0.5 points
I see value in Seth Jones to record a point and would play it to 52%.
The Panthers have generated 90 shot attempts, 36 shots on target, and 4.54 expected goals with Jones on the ice through three games.
Those outputs have translated into zero Florida goals. Zero!
The Panthers are generating a ton of opportunities during Jones’ minutes. He's also played significantly more than anyone else, leading the team in usage by nearly 20 minutes.
Paul Maurice is truly giving Jones as much ice as he can handle on top of favorable deployment, be it PP1 minutes or spoonfeeding him more offensive zone faceoffs than anybody.
Expect that to lead to results tonight.
Panthers vs Kings goal scorer: Sam Reinhart
Reinhart is the most likely Panthers player to find the back of the net, and I like him to do so to 41%. Nobody on the Panthers has generated more shot attempts, scoring chances, or expected goals than Reinhart.
He just hasn’t put them away, which is generally not an issue for the career 16% finisher.
A lot of Reinhart’s shot volume comes from close proximity to the net, and Los Angeles netminders have combined to stop only 64% of high-danger opportunities. That ranks them 30th in the NHL.
