The Chicago Bears are storming up the Super Bowl odds board at leading sportsbooks after handling the defending-champion Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
BetMGM Sportsbook shortened the Bears’ odds from +1,400 last week to +700 as of Tuesday morning.
- The Bears moved from +2,500 at opening to +700 at BetMGM Sportsbook.
- Caleb Williams is tied for third in MVP odds.
- The Bears have the toughest remaining schedule.
The Bears are 6-2 through eight weeks of the NFL season, with only two other teams, the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers, boasting the same number of wins as them in the NFC.
Chicago impressed on primetime, as they emphatically beat the Seahawks on Monday Night Football to close out Week 8, 34-17. Caleb Williams threw for 247 yards and a touchdown, and the Bears' defense only surrendered 252 total yards of offense.

Super Bowl odds have understandably grown more fond of the Bears throughout their three-game win streak, which includes back-to-back victories against February’s Super Bowl participants. But the latest win against the defending champs brought them into rarified air.
BetMGM listed the Bears at +1,100 in Super Bowl odds after they secured the trade acquisition of All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons last week. That value was the fourth-best of all teams, only behind the Buffalo Bills, 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Beating Seattle on Monday forced the oddsmakers to seriously reconsider their confidence in the Bears. BetMGM shortened the Bears’ odds to +700, which carries a 12.5% implied probability. That means the Bears are now 4.2% more likely to win the Super Bowl than they were entering the weekend.
Only the Bills (+550) and the 49ers (+600) remain ahead of Chicago in Super Bowl odds.
Public backs Williams and the Bears
Oddsmakers aren’t the only individuals whose respect for the Bears is growing. The betting public has flocked to the Bears ever since the Simmons trade was announced.
“In the last week, 30% of money (most) has been wagered on the Bears to win the Super Bowl following the trade for Jeffery Simmons and the team's road win over the Seahawks,” said Christian Cipollini, Senior Manager, BetMGM. “Chicago opened +2500 to win it all and is a loser for the sportsbook on the futures market.”
At the time of writing, 5.5% of tickets (sixth) and 6.4% of the handle (fifth) are backing the Bears in the Super Bowl futures market. Only the Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Chiefs, and 49ers generated more money in wagers.
The Bears are also the popular pick to win the NFC. Although the 49ers (+275) have the best odds, the Bears (+450) are responsible for 16.8% of bets and 14.4% of the pot.
Chicago’s success has also spilled over into NFL MVP odds. Bills quarterback Josh Allen (+155) and Bengals QB Joe Burrow (+425) are the leaders, while Niners and Bears QBs, Brock Purdy and Caleb Williams (+500) are tied for the third-best values.

Tough sledding ahead
The Bears’ position as a top Super Bowl contender is going to be put to the test over the coming months.
According to Tankathon, Chicago has the toughest remaining strength of schedule (.585) in the NFL. Standout matchups include showdowns with the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Detroit Lions (twice).
