Sweepstakes casino operator Virtual Gaming Worlds (VGW) has launched a new iOS app for Chumba Casino, allowing its U.S. players to access the social and sweepstakes casino platform on their iPhones and iPads.
- VGW has released its full gaming portfolio to iOS devices.
- The app supports both Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins play in states where Chumba Casino offers both.
- VGW also plans to gradually withdraw its existing Chumba Lite app for iOS devices.
The app is now available on the Apple App Store, giving users access to Chumba Casino’s full game catalog, including its Social Plus games, progressive jackpots, live social casino titles, and other exclusive games.
The native app also offers features designed to make the mobile experience more seamless, with account profiles, game history, and balances synchronized in real time between the app and the desktop website.
iOS users will be able to log in using Face ID or Touch ID, while additional security measures include App Store age-gating for players aged 21 and over and mandatory identity verification.
The app supports both Standard Play, using Gold Coins, and Promotional Play, using Sweeps Coins in states where Chumba Casino offers both options.
VGW is also planning to phase out Chumba Lite, the casino’s previous iOS app, which was limited to Standard Play. Existing players will be notified about the changes and given the option of moving over to the new Chumba Casino app.
“Bringing Chumba Casino to the Apple App Store is an exciting milestone for VGW as we continue to expand our reach and further improve our player experience,” said Scott Milford, VGW's Chief Product & Revenue Officer.
VGW to pay $8 million over New York sweepstakes casino operations
In other VGW news, the operator agreed to pay $8 million to New York Attorney General Letitia James in September this year, covering disgorgement, penalties, and costs following an investigation into its sweepstakes casino operations in the state.
Alongside Chumba Casino, the settlement covers two additional VGW brands: Global Poker and Luckyland Slots, which were accused of unlawfully allowing New York players to access casino-style games using Sweeps Coins, which are redeemable for cash and prizes.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, an investigation found that players could collect Sweeps Coins through purchases, with around one coin provided for every dollar spent on the platforms.
The office argued that this effectively allowed users to gamble with something of value, which is prohibited under New York gambling laws.
VGW had previously received a cease-and-desist letter in June 2025, prompting the operator to stop offering virtual coin gambling in the state.
