There is hope in reducing gun violence.  Look at the success in reducing harms from smoking tobacco and driving cars.  If public health is a priority, there should be higher taxes, age requirement, warning labels,  advertising limit, licensing, background checks, training, insurance requirement and more safety regulations.

It's crazy. This most recent school shooter was transgender. Wanted to be acknowledged as a woman. I'm sure wanted to be addressed as a woman, she/her pronouns and all. Yet when it all comes down to it, shooting up a school is some of the most male shit you can do. I mean, has there ever been a biologically female school shooter? I don't have anything against transgender people. And truth be told, this one shooter will probably set them back as some people will use it to claim being transgender is a mental condition, even though this is probably the first non-biologically female chick to shoot up a school as well. I just find irony in the whole thing.

 The very 1st school shooter I ever remember,was a girl named Laurie Dann she shot some people and I believe a couple kids in school in a very rich north shore suburb of Chicago in the 80's.That was the 1st time I remember of a person shooting in a school,and the only time I've ever heard of a female school shooter.

Newsweek reveal that Biden wasn't talking about ice cream in address about mass shooting because of missing context in video.  Earlier, Biden was speaking at a business summit.  In keeping with the light tone of the event, the ice cream joke was a reference to a business owner in the room.  Then Biden spoke to children before addressing the mass shooting.  He changed to a serious tone to express sympathy and urged more must be done to prevent shootings.  Meanwhile police information was still emerging during this time.

So the whole country is shocked and saddened by this senseless killing of children and adults by another disturbed person and the President steps out for a scheduled event and acts like nothing has happened, no moment of silence, no acknowledgement at all.
