I was slammed at work today and didn’t get a chance to post anything, but I definitely worked the card.

I kept coming back to Tampa. I liked the matchup, but I’m just not laying a home team run line often …and putting myself in a spot where they’re up one and never get the bottom of the ninth. The first five was interesting too, but with Matz basically being used as an opener, I didn’t love not knowing exactly who was covering those early innings.

I also spent a lot of time on Washington/Mets Over 8.5. Stock was definitely attackable and there were multiple paths to nine runs, but Alvarez was enough of a pause that I couldn’t check every box.

Same type of thing with the A’s tonight. There are reasons to like the matchup, but at the end of the day… it’s still the A’s

I did lock in on one tonight though.

I’ll break down

Seattle’s bats are flat
This was the first thing I kept coming back to. Seattle has scored two runs or fewer in six of its last seven. They snapped the losing streak yesterday, but it was a 1-0 win. The offense still didn’t wake up

Peter Lambert
Lambert has been giving Houston quality innings and comes in with a 3.09 ERA. I don’t need him to throw a shutout tonight. I need him to keep Houston attached while Seattle continues struggling to score.

Survive George Kirby
Kirby is the blemish. He has pitched Houston well, and I’m not pretending otherwise. But he’s probably giving Seattle five or six innings, not nine. Houston doesn’t have to knock him around early. Stay in the game and make Seattle turn it over to the pen.

I want Houston late
This is why I went full game moneyline. Seattle’s bullpen has struggled recently, while Houston’s pen has been sharp. Altuve is back, Yordan is in the middle of the lineup, and if this thing is close after Kirby exits, that’s exactly where I want Houston
