Tappy - you keep referencing meaningless stats about offensive rankings trying to justify why Alabama will stomp MSU. Yet you fail to acknowledge:

    1) Cook is a first round NFL draft pick. None of the SEC qbs you keep bringing up or anywhere near the first round. So yes, Cook will be the best qb bama has seen all year and it's not even close.

    2) you obviously don't do much research otherwise you would know Cook was hurt in Iowa game with a shoulder injury in his throwing arm. By all accounts he should be back to 100% by 12/31. His health will ultimately decide the game b/c he can stretch the field and really put pressure on bamas secondary.

    3) why does MSU have no DL depth? They rotate 7+ very capable players, at least 3 will play on Sunday's. Their front 7 is very stout against the run and shutdown two great RBs already (Ezekiel Elliott and Royce Freeman).

    4) MSU has 4 top 15 wins and will be as healthy as they've been all year (they were down upwards of 10 starters for middle part of season). Bama was relatively healthy, has no impressive W's and lost to the best team they faced at home. MSU is also 7-1 I believe against top 10 teams lately. You do what you want but to suggest bama blows them out and MSU has no talent (top 5 3 years in a row now) is just plain dumb and incorrect.

I have loved college football for 40 years and as long as I can remember I have been around these types that insist that one conference is better than another. The majority of the time it is little men with an inferiority complex who have no real allegiance to any school or conference because they started their "jobs" right after high school. There are also many who actually went to a college and do have a dog in the race, but what difference does it really make what conference is "better" than the other. The fact is the football can bounce in any direction and on any given day a team that is "better" than there opponent is capable of losing to a team that is not as good. But the bottom line is, why do you guys care so much???????? If your life is so pitiful that you have to rest all of your pride in someone else's accomplishments, then which conference is "better" than the other is the least of your worries!!! WHO CARES???????? Just trying to win $$$. Alabama can blow Michigan St out and they could lose to Michigan st. That is reality. EVERYTHING else is opinion!!

    https://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/collegeQuarterbackRating

Cook is ranked 41st in the nation... We faced the 37th, 29th, and 9th ranked QB's in the nation and we shut every single one of them down, so we will shut him down as well...

His health will ultimately decide the game b/c he can stretch the field and really put pressure on bamas secondary. Again. our secondary is one of the best in the nation... Reggie Ragland just got defensive player of the year in the SEC and Eddie Jackson is one of the best safties in college football, and again we have faced better QB's and passing offenses...

    3) why does MSU have no DL depth? They rotate 7+ very capable players, at least 3 will play on Sunday's. Their front 7 is very stout against the run and shutdown two great RBs already (Ezekiel Elliott and Royce Freeman). When they rotate, they rotate FRESHMEN, and they are not going to have success against Derrick Henry after the third quarter...

You will see, Bama is going to humiliate MSU...

I'm probably a Alabama homer but if I was in vegas on the 31st of Dec. I would lay down money and take Mich. St. + the 9.5 but also a dollar on the Mich St. money line. I love dogs. Henry had to run the ball, I think 43 times against Auburn to beat them by 16.

And he less for more against other teams... Does that mean that because that happened in one game it defines his ability or Alabama's ability to run the ball, or should other factors be considered... Henry might have to run it that many times, but so what if he does, that just means that Michigan St gets beaten into submission a little more... I am telling you, they will be looking BAD late third quarter...

You, and the dude who started this thread, and countless others, have already heard the 'fan-speak' of Jimmy and Tappy (disguised as facts and stats in a conference that plays just 7 games against each other and schedule 3 cupcakes), and have already declared they're betting on Michigan State. So altogether, although slightly annoying, Fric and Frac have helped wise bettors get on the right side.

You are by far the biggest fan boy in this thread, and have yet to say a single thing that has any relevance whatsoever to the matchup being discussed.  But because I like you, I will give you an opportunity to put your money where your mouth is.  I will give you Michigan State and 13.5 points for however much you want to bet.  You name the amount.  Be easy on yourself, because you will lose the bet.

8th ranked as well, Brandon Allen is one of the best QB's in the nation...It is just that a lot of people are trying to say that he is the best QB we have faced, and that is clearly not the case...

Dude... Brandon Allen will be a late round draft pick or go undrafted. Cook is a first round QB, why is this so difficult for you to understand? 1st round qb and 33-4 as a starter > Brandon Allen or any SEC qb... I can't believe this is even an argument. It's as dumb as me arguing my Wisconsin Badgers should be in the playoffs!!

Dude... Cook is a first round QB, Brandon Allen will be a late rounder or undrafted. Is this really a real conversation? How dumb are you? This is like me arguing my Wisconsin Badgers should be in the playoffs. Seriously, that's how dumb you sound.

Bama is a very talented team and I would likely take them straight up, I just think laying 10 is a lot given a healthy Cook will really test bama and MSU run D is legit.

Because we are discussing Alabama's ability to defend against a QB... What round one goes in the NFL draft is irrelevant, we are discussing his abilites in COLLEGE football and he sucks... I am sure he is doing great in the Big Ten where defense does not exist, but he has not faced one secondary or pass rush and defense that is even CLOSE to being on our level and he is going to get shut down just like all the QB's that are better than him. I will take my stats and rankings over your NFL draft...

First of all, I am not a "fanboy." I do not live in Michigan, nor have any affiliation to it. I do know you live in Alabama, which automatically qualifies you as a fanboy. This fact should disqualify you and Tappy from attempting to coax others into following your sympathies and emotions and most of all your hopes. Hopes are airy wishes, and cause a fan buy to misconstrue reality.

I acknowledge your wager attempt, and propose a different payoff other than mere money. How about the loser has to make a post within 24 hours in the CFB forum with the title: "I AM BANNED FOREVER FROM POSTING" And then in the body of the thread state (something to the effect, you're welcome to edit or add suggestions): "I have been masquerading as an objective gambler offering advice to there, but I have been a complete liar, and now I am honoring a bet t become the "Village Idiot" and I am now in the public square  for you to make fun of me as you wish. I have been a liar and now I am called out for it. I will never post on this forum again as JIMMYDAFREAK . I have been an Alabama fan because I live in the same state and I am a fool to align my ego with a cultural phenomenon because I am a gullible fool. Goodbye forum forever."

WORDS and Bum Bum Broken promises are very very CHEAP!! For all you will do,unlike an honorable man like JTF,is set up shop under another name on this site.  $$$$ is the only bet that makes an impact. You and your fairy words have no business in a man's forum. BUTT....To have you and Bum Bum exit this website/forum with your tails btwn your legs would/will be a nice New Year's Day gift for all of us. I must admit. LOL!!!! Cook has no shot agst the Bama D rush. NONE!!  He will be like a deer in the headlights,if he even plays the whole game. Vegas does not have M St's odds at GETTING to the NC game at 9% for nothing!! That equals Bama turning over the ball 5x AND M ST getting 2 hail mary TD passes at the end of each half!!Now put your $$$ where your l'il boy mouth is,OK!!! @chiwon: who the fck are u? Who asked ur opinion? The only "deer in headlights " will be the wide and always popping and shifty eyes of Derrick Henry (too many head blows rattling his brain) with his gross nappy raccoon pigtail, which you and Tappy dream about stroking as you circle jerk each other off during the Heisman ceremony.

Derrick Henry isn't the best Runner in college football, he is actually 55th in the country, look at the stats:

    https://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/player/_/stat/rushing/sort/yardsPerRushAttempt/count/41

Stats don't lie. Remember what you said "What round one goes in the NFL draft is irrelevant", so there are, according to you 54 better Runners

Stats don't lie. Remember what you said "What round one goes in the NFL draft is irrelevant", so there are, according to you 54 better Runners

The Doak Walker award disagrees with you, sorry though...

So these two make up the terrifying, unbeatable team? America ought to do better than these two losers / rejects.
And Henry? What kind of personality is he? Does he speak English? Is he the face of the team? Has anyone ever heard him speak? He is just another big back who gets yards after contact, or makes arm tackling defenses look silly or make him superhuman. Big deal. He's a guy who fits in a system that tries to chew up clock. YAWN

For a person with the name "Relax Dude" you really should relax a bit more. Your opinions are clearly biased. We are talking about lines here not ranting against hated teams. If that was the case I would be bashing Alabama too. I would much rather see an Alabama Ole Miss rematch. I do support your idea of telling everyone to pound MichST here like it's a no brainer. Mich St must cover +13.5

    Accept?

Come on. These kind of bets/challenges are both stupid and childish. Nothing against you, but really? He made some great points is this is how you comeback?

Wow! Reminds me of junior high school.

True but we must not forget that was a big rivalry game. Auburn and Alabama hate each other and their players expressed that pretty arrogantly on the field (if you watched the game it was heated the entire time between receivers and corners). The end product is that the tide still beat them by 16...

Throwing the ball on the tide is not going to be as easy as you think imho. I'm not trying to talk garbage or anything. I'm actually on this game so I appreciate any good information on mismatches that you guys feel are being created in favor of Mich St.

To not invite Dalivn Cook was a sham anyway.  He had 211 carries and ran for 1700 yards.  Henry had over 50% more carries and only gained another 300 yards.  Eight YPC, and 1700 yards and missed a game.

For me I am never impressed with running backs; they are a dime a dozen.  Also, there only as good as their offensive line, so since Bama probably has 4 all-americans on that line, Henry should be great, anyone would be.  Just not impressed with Henry, and its nothing against him, just never impressed with the running back position in general.
