The Three-Day Money Train
Alright, we’re keeping it right here all weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No fucking around.
This thread needs to sweep. Simple as that.
I’m laser focused, I’ve got a little extra time this weekend, and Major League Baseball is coming to a close.
Three days. One thread.
One time for the good guys

Barnett comes in with a 7.08 ERA and 6.98 FIP, and Oakland’s rotation has been getting tattooed 6.17 starter ERA since August 4. Cleveland gets multiple trips through the order against a starter who doesn’t miss enough bats or keep traffic off the bases.

On the other side, Cleveland can go Espino into Cantillo, which gives Oakland a righty look and then flips them to a lefty bulk arm. Cantillo is coming off four scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in that role.
Oakland’s offense has also been only 91 wRC+ since August 4

Tampa has a .807 OPS against left-handed pitching at home over the last 30 days, and they’ve been seeing lefties particularly well recently they’re hitting .357 against LHP over the last five days.
Boston has been poor against lefties lately .647 OPS vs LHP over the last 30 days and only .640 on the road. That’s the matchup Ian Seymour gets. Seymour’s ERA is 4.27, but he has 150 strikeouts in 122.1 innings with a 1.14 WHIP, so there is real swing-and-miss underneath it

Cavalli gives us a legitimate arm. 12-5, 3.12 ERA, 194 strikeouts, and he has recorded at least seven strikeouts in seven straight starts. He’s built to give Washington real length through the first five.
Leahy’s numbers look ok on the surface, but St. Louis is planning to cap him around 45 pitches and roughly three innings. So if Washington can get his pitch count up even a little, we’re into the Cardinals’ middle relief
That creates the setup we want. Washington gets five innings of Cavalli St. Louis may get only three from Leahy. We’re essentially asking Cavalli to hold the Cardinals down while Washington gets a couple of innings relief.

Cantillo’s walk rate is a little high, but it is the A’s, and he’s got a couple legitimate swing-and-miss pitches.
Everything still depends on the lineups, but I’ve got no problem with him coming in behind Espino. I actually like the way Cleveland is setting this up.

Lost my winning streak with you. Not sure if you realize the past 5 plays you lost then cash that exact bet the next day. Pretty coincidental.
You seem to get the mismatches right but when teams are more closely aligned and the game is tougher I have found is where you drop some. Not questioning the process just stating an observation.
Hoping you crush all weekend. New threads have also been very successful for you so happy to see a new one created this AM.

I believe we’re up around 18 units on Covers this year, one unit at a time, with 33 more winners than losers.
And we’re talking about a little round baseball coming in at 94 MPH, moving all kinds of crazy ways, then getting hit by a round bat with fractions of a second to react. Shit ain’t EZ that’s for sure….. this weekend, though will be a magical weekend

Is there any team in baseball that wants to win more tonight than the Tampa Bay Rays? They are the second best team in baseball, but coming out of the All-Star break, they got ambushed in Boston and were swept 4-0 by the Red Sox who were approaching the midway point of their incomprehensible 32-5 run that lasted from June 25th until August 7th.
No team has swept the Rays since then and they are 37-17 since leaving Boston on July 19th.
The Rays are also 11-2 this season at home on Friday nights with all eleven wins coming by more than one run. Last Friday they defeated the Astros 3-1.

Cease gives us the clear starting pitching edge over Rocker. Cease comes in at 2.38 ERA, while Rocker is 4.54 with a 1.43 WHIP. Toronto has also been swinging it well against right-handed pitching, with a .779 OPS over the last 30 days.
On the other side, Texas has only a .657 OPS against righties over the last 30 days, and Cease is exactly the kind of arm that can expose that.
i’m interested in Toronto

Tampa and Boston lineups are out, and Tampa definitely secured its position on the short card.
Boston tried to load righties against Seymour, but that is actually the side he has handled better. Boston’s recent production against lef handed pitching has been poor, Seymour is missing bat and Tampa gives us enough legit damage against Suarez to create a lead through five.
Tampa F5 remains firmly in play.

The Rays are 9-2-2 at home on Friday nights this season in the 1st 5 innings, though just 2-1-2 since the All-Star break. Last Friday they were tied 1-1 with the Astros at the end of five and then Junior Caminero went on to win the game in the bottom of the 9th for the 3-1 final.

Cleveland and Oakland lineups are out, and Cleveland definitely remains firmly in play on the short card.
Cleveland gave us the bats we wanted against Barnett, while Oakland’s lineup gets thin pretty quickly after the top few spots. Barnett still brings the shaky underlying profile we wanted to attack, and Cleveland can seqence Espino into Cantillo, which gives Oakland two completely different looks through the first five.
