NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS -3 AT HOUSTON TEXANS
The Covers crew went 3-2 in Week 12, a decent follow-up to our Week 11 4-1 mark, as we inch closer to .500 and semi-respectability, with 28.5 of 60 points. I was no help, taking the Packers +3.5, and they got their clocks cleaned at San Francisco, halting my four-game win streak. My picks are now 7-5 on the season.
I’m leaning on my son this week since he’s home for Thanksgiving. He’s been dealing me great NFL picks by text all season long, so I’ll ride his hot hand: Patriots -3 at Texans. Hey, there are worse things than needing the Patriots. Simple enough. - @Covers_Vegas (Season: 7-5)
BEST FROM THE REST
NEW YORK JETS -3 AT CINCINNATI BENGALS
The Jets come into this road game against the worst team in the NFL as winners of three games in a row and they have looked pretty good in the process. They possess the NFL's top run defense (78.1 yards/game) and the only remaining offensive weapons for the Bengals are in the running game. This won't be a shootout (bet the Under) but I think the Jets will win and cover easily. - @Mookie_45 (Season: 6-5-1)
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS AT JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS +1
The Jaguars have lost three in a row after a breakeven 4-4 start to the schedule, and their expensive offseason addition, QB Nick Foles, hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire in his first two starts back from a broken collarbone suffered in Week 1. That and he doesn’t even have a cool mustache. But salvation is coming to North Florida in the form of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jacksonville’s sputtering offense, which is averaging only 12 points during this three-game slide, will face a Tampa Bay team just handing out points like Black Friday flyers. - @CoversJLo (Season: 6-6)
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS +6 AT BALTIMORE RAVENS
The Ravens might be the hottest team in the league but the 49ers aren't far behind. San Francisco is 10-1, has the second-best defensive DVOA in the league, and Jimmy Garopollo is starting to find his groove. With the Niners allowing just 13.2 ppg on the road, six points are too much to spot them. @Covers_Ro (Season: 6-6)
MINNESOTA VIKINGS +3 AT SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
I'm officially in a tailspin with four straight losers but I'm going back to the Monday nighter here with a line I don't agree with. At Seattle -3, you're basically telling me that these teams are a pick 'em on a neutral site and that just doesn't seem right as Minnesota is the superior team with a better defense and a passing game that should feast on Seattle's secondary. Give me the points! - @CoversBD (Season: 4-8)
