Use the Polymarket promo code COVERS and get a $20 trading bonus today, with its exchange now open for mobile users. I've already claimed the offer by depositing $10 via Apple Pay, and still regularly use Polymarket.
After thoroughly testing the Polymarket platform and bonus offering, I'll explain everything you need to know about the Polymarket invite code, how to get your bonus, and more about the world’s largest prediction market in 2026.
Deposit $10, Get $20 Bonus
Quick verdict: My overall thoughts on the Polymarket promo code offer
The Polymarket promo code offer is one of the most valuable prediction market bonuses available right now because it provides bankroll to test the app and get plenty of trades in without committing too much of your own funds. You get a similar amount of trading options with the $20 if not less than some other prediction market platforms.
I find Polymarket has the fastest platform and a more news-driven feel than many of its competitors like Kalshi, and the $20 trading bonus is especially useful if you want to try several markets instead of putting everything into one outcome.
I also like that Polymarket is not limited to sports. Once I’m inside the app, I can move between politics, crypto, culture, global news, and sports markets, which makes the bonus feel more flexible than a standard sportsbook-style welcome offer.
For me, the most important things are:
- Exclusive code: You may still see users searching for a Polymarket invite code, but the more important piece is using the active Polymarket promo code COVERS today to secure $20 for trading in the app.
- Bonus value: $20 is a decent starting point for a prediction market app, especially if you want to spread your trades across multiple outcomes.
- Market variety: Polymarket is built for more than sports, with markets tied to politics, crypto, entertainment, economics, and breaking news.
- Mobile-first access: The U.S. app has rolled out to iOS and Android users, but the best signup path is still through your mobile device.
- Best fit: I like this offer most for users who want a fast-moving prediction market app with strong liquidity and plenty of non-sports markets.

What’s the best Polymarket bonus?
The best Polymarket bonus right now is the Deposit $10, Get $20 Bonus available with our exclusive Polymarket promo code COVERS.
I like this offer because it gave me a useful starting bankroll without making the signup process feel heavy. I only needed to deposit $10 to qualify for the $20 bonus which made it easy to test Polymarket’s core experience before committing more of my own money.
For me, the value is not just the headline bonus amount. It is the flexibility. I can use the bonus to explore different types of markets, like sports, politics, crypto, culture, global news, or major economic events, instead of being locked into one sportsbook-style promo or one specific bet type.
My recommendation is that the Polymarket welcome bonus is ideal for learning how prediction markets work, trying a few real-world event contracts, and getting comfortable with “Yes” or “No” trading before scaling up.

Polymarket promo code terms and conditions
My first step to claiming the Polymarket welcome bonus was entering the exclusive Polymarket promo code COVERS when prompted at sign-up. Once I added the code, the rest of the registration process took under five minutes, and the bonus requirements were easy to follow.
You only need to deposit $10 to unlock the $20 bonus, which makes this one of the lower-commitment offers in the prediction market space. After my deposit was available, I had enough flexibility to test a few different markets instead of putting everything into one trade.
Once the deposit settled and the promo requirements were met, the bonus funds were released into my account and ready to use. That gave me a useful starting bankroll to explore Polymarket’s sports, politics, crypto, culture, and breaking news markets without risking much of my own money upfront.
Eligibility: This offer is available to new Polymarket users who meet the minimum age requirement and are located in a jurisdiction where Polymarket is authorized to operate.
Promo codes: I entered the Polymarket promo code COVERS during registration to unlock the welcome offer.
Minimum deposits: A minimum deposit of $10 is required to qualify for the $20 reward.
Qualifying trade: I placed my qualifying trade on an NFL Champion 2027 to ensure my bonus was credited. Check whether the trade must meet a minimum amount, use real funds, or settle before the reward is applied.
Wagering requirements: The requirement is 1x, meaning I had to trade the full bonus amount once before any bonus-related winnings become withdrawable.
Market restrictions: This promo does not exclude certain markets, outcomes, or event categories.
Expiry date: This offer is ongoing and has no end date.
Withdrawals: Bonus-related winnings may not be immediately withdrawable until all promo requirements are complete. I recommend checking the bonus status in your account before requesting a withdrawal. It took me just over 4 hours to receive my first withdrawal.
I’d use the $20 bonus to test a few NFL futures markets without risking my own deposit. For example, I could trade on the Ravens to win the AFC, or the Rams to win the 2027 Super Bowl. If one of my predictions hits, the profit is added to my account balance. If it misses, I’ve used the promotional funds to learn how Polymarket works instead of losing my own money.
How to claim the bonus on Polymarket?
Read my step-by-step guide below to learn how to claim and use the Polymarket promo code first-time welcome bonus today:
Register
To begin, visit the Polymarket app via our link, click the 'Sign Up' button, and enter the Polymarket invite code COVERS. I registered using a Google (Gmail) account in literally 30 seconds, but you can use any other email address. A verification email will be sent to you with a code to enter on the platform. You can also register by linking your crypto wallet, including Trust Wallet, Phantom, MetaMask, and more.
I needed to enter my personal information to complete registration and activate the Polymarket sign-up bonus, including my date of birth, phone number, email address, and location. I also appreciated that I didn't have to select a username right away if I didn't want to.
Deposit funds
The next step is to add funds to start trading, which is now available for U.S. users.
With my account live, I clicked the deposit button, selected my payment method, and confirmed the payment. I had to deposit at least $10 to qualify for the Polymarket first-time trading bonus.
Start trading
Next, I can start trading event contracts on sports, politics, economics, world news, pop culture, award shows, and more.
Now it was time to choose whichever event I prefer, select my outcome, add the amount I want to trade, and confirm the transaction. My options include 'LeBron James next team' and 'Who will be the next President of the United States?' I can monitor the event and 'cash out' at any time, or I can wait for it to be resolved.
Withdraw earnings
Once I satisfied the Polymarket bonus code terms, I went to Portfolio and selected Withdraw. From there, I chose crypto as my withdrawal method, entered the amount I wanted to cash out, and confirmed the request by adding my wallet address.
The process was straightforward, but it is worth double-checking your wallet details before submitting, since crypto withdrawals do not have the same safety net as a bank transfer. In my test, the main friction point was not finding the withdrawal button — it was making sure I had the correct wallet, network, and amount before confirming the transaction.

Is Polymarket legal?
Yes, Polymarket is legal and has returned to the U.S. market after being fined and barred in 2022 for operating without registration. Polymarket resolved its regulatory issues by acquiring QCEX, whose affiliate QCX LLC is a licensed derivatives exchange. Because QCX LLC is officially registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Polymarket now has the legal "green light" to offer its prediction markets to American users.
Polymarket is now legally operating nationwide under federal oversight, offering New York prediction markets, California prediction markets, Texas prediction markets, Georgia prediction markets, and Florida prediction markets, among others. Polymarket is not subject to the licensing requirements that apply to online sports betting apps and social or sweepstakes casinos.
- Regulatory compliance: Polymarket is a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and is therefore regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which has authority over federal trading laws.
- Auditing and security: Polymarket holds SOC 2 Type II compliance and uses SSL encryption, protecting your data.
Christian Stringer, Prediction Markets Editor
What is Polymarket?
Polymarket U.S. is a centralized, CFTC-regulated Designated Contract Market (DCM) operated by QCX LLC, where real-world events are turned into tradable markets. In short, prediction market apps like Polymarket allow me to invest in future predictions and turn a profit if I am correct.
Instead of betting against an oddsmaker, I can trade shares that reflect whether an outcome will occur. As I buy and sell, contract prices change, reflecting what the general public perceives as the likelihood of each outcome. Polymarket recently introduced an improved contract, called CTF Exchange V2, that has simplified and optimized the order structure and matching, improved fee management, and lowered gas costs through more efficient libraries.
Topics range widely, from politics to tech, culture, sport, and more. I have to decide when to enter or exit positions, assessing the odds based on the current market climate and my own personal research.
What I like about the Polymarket promo code
Exclusive promo code
Enter our exclusive Polymarket bonus code 'COVERS' during registration to trigger the absolute best offer. I like that the code is presented as a shortcut to the U.S. app rather than leaving me in the standard early-access flow.
Low barrier to entry
I only need to deposit $10 to unlock the full $20 trading bonus, which keeps my upfront risk low. For a first-time user who wants to test the app without overcommitting, the promo makes it much easier to justify.
Simple U.S. funding
Polymarket US lets me fund my account through the app with a debit card or bank transfer (ACH), so claiming the offer feels more familiar than a crypto-first onboarding flow. That simplicity lowers the friction for casual users who just want to get started quickly.
Flexible trading mechanics
I’m not locked into a position until the market settles. Polymarket US lets me buy or sell at any point before settlement, giving me greater control to lock in gains, cut losses, or react to new information.
What I don't like about the Polymarket promo code
The Polymarket promo code does have some drawbacks:
Mobile-only redemption
The Polymarket sign-up bonus is framed as a mobile-only promo, so desktop users can hit friction immediately. I don’t love having to switch devices just to activate a welcome offer.
Modest bonus ceiling
The total upside is capped at $20 in trading bonus funds. That’s fine for casual users and first-timers, but it’s not a huge boost to my bankroll if I’m looking for a more aggressive welcome offer.
Depositing may confuse newbies
You have to make a minimum deposit in either MoonPay or Polymarket USD to unlock the Polymarket welcome bonus, which can be confusing if you're new to the platform. Luckily, Polymarket has an entire 'How to Deposit' section in its Help Center that you can read to learn how to make your qualifying deposit.
Waitlist friction
Polymarket’s U.S. app is still being rolled out via early access, and desktop users who land on the site may still be pushed to the waitlist. That extra step makes the signup process less seamless than a typical betting app. As suggested, use the Covers-verified Polymarket promo code to bypass the waitlist altogether.
Polymarket platform review
Polymarket promotes itself as 'the world’s largest prediction market,' allowing players around the world to trade positions on all kinds of things using crypto. U.S. users will quickly take to Polymarket's simple concept: every market centers on a yes-or-no question tied to a real-world event. Its platform is built on Polygon, and transactions are processed using pUSD, its own version of digital currency.
Polymarket is designed for individuals who wish to trade on real-world events. Its user base includes traders, crypto users, and analysts. But it also appeals to those who closely follow sports, politics, economics, global affairs, and cultural events. Trending topics are converted into simple tradable contracts, making them accessible to anyone interested in trading, particularly those focused on current events. The Polymarket invite code 'COVERS' ensures you are getting the best possible promotion to start your prediction market journey.

"Polymarket is actually pretty good, especially because they give you bonus cash to start betting with. You can use that bonus to place bets, grow it if you make good predictions, and then withdraw the money, which is a big plus. The platform is easy to use and feels legit. That said, it can be really stressful, especially when a bet is about to lose, and you’re watching your money disappear. It’s exciting, but definitely not for people who get stressed or anxious really easily. Overall, it’s a good opportunity, but it’s emotionally intense."
- Alex, App Store user
"Very good app!!! I like the breakdown of the individual categories and the graphs are a very nice touch!!!"
- Paul Miele, Trustpilot user

Polymarket key features
Polymarket is brimming with neat features. Here are some of my personal favorites:
Yes/No Events Contracts
Every market is based around a simple yes-or-no question, making it easy to trade regardless of your level of experience.
Real-Time Pricing
Prices fluctuate based on supply and demand, reflecting real-time market activity as traders react to news and events.
No Trading Fees on Select Markets
Polymarket doesn’t charge any trading fees on its Geopolitical and World Events categories. Sports, however, do have fees. Sports fees have recently been updated, and are now calculated at match time instead of when you buy the contract to remove a category of edge-case failures.
Liquidity Rewards Program
Users can earn a daily reward by placing trades that help maintain market liquidity.
Polymarket Dashboard
Customize your Dashboard to track key markets you're monitoring.
Polymarket social media integration
Thanks to Polymarket's partnership with X (formerly Twitter), you can wager on sporting events with just one tap through social media. If you see odds you like on your social media feed, you can easily navigate to a bet slip and confirm your selection.

To learn more, check out our in-depth Polymarket review. Our Polymarket vs. Kalshi or Polymarket vs. FanDuel Predicts guide pages also outline the current Kalshi promo code offer, to see which prediction market is right for you in 2026.
Polymarket app review
I can access the platform via the Polymarket mobile app or through a browser. Either way, I find it is straightforward, smooth, and convenient for event trading.
My experience is largely the same, but using the app was easier and quicker during my testing. I can enable push notifications, check price changes, and manage positions. It’s a more practical and convenient choice for an active trader than using a desktop. I recommend the desktop experience for the increase in visual cues and immersion.
🍎 Polymarket iOS app
The Polymarket app has a 4.6/5 rating based on more than 52,000 reviews. The Polymarket betting app requires compatibility with iOS 18.0 or later. Polymarket is forthcoming about the specific data used to track you, including identifiers and usage data.

🤖 Polymarket Android app
The Polymarket Android app has a less-than-stellar 2.5/5 rating from Android users on the Google Play Store, based on over 8,600 user reviews, up significantly from the 2.2/5 range just a few weeks ago. I'll continue to monitor this closely as the Polymarket mobile app receives upgrades.
📱 Polymarket app design
Polymarket features a clean, fast, and purpose-built design optimized entirely for trading. By stripping away standard sportsbook clutter, the platform offers a streamlined "Yes/No" contract interface that is immediately intuitive for users. One standout feature that I really like is its real-time pricing and liquidity display, which makes shifts in market sentiment instantly visible and actionable. I was able to take full advantage of this when placing my 2027 NFL winner trade.
I found the navigation frictionless, allowing me to access trending markets, categories, and open positions in just a few taps.
To improve the user experience, Polymarket recently updated its order book architecture to make order management easier. This upgrade directly addresses and reduces balance-check race conditions and nonce invalidation issues, effectively eliminating the technical edge cases that previously resulted in failed trades.
📈 Polymarket app improvements
I've noticed Polymarket consistently rolls out backend and UI upgrades that improve execution speed, market depth visibility, and overall reliability during high-volume events. Recent updates have focused on smoother order placement, better price charting, and faster load times, key advantages on a platform where timing and precision matter. Incremental improvements to notifications and market discovery also help me stay on top of volatility and emerging opportunities without missing key moves.
The Blockratize Inc. Polymarket app (292.2 MB and growing) was most recently updated to Version 2.7.3 in July 2026 to address bugs and improve performance. This commitment to constant improvement has Polymarket among the best apps like Kalshi. You can also read our guide, which highlights apps like Polymarket, to see how other prediction market apps compare in 2026.
Polymarket Combo Cup
The Polymarket Combo Cup is a platform-wide combos promotion. Users can bundle between two and 32 eligible Polymarket predictions into one trade, with every leg required to win for the combo to pay out. Any qualifying combo worth at least $10 USDC is automatically entered into a daily competition, where the five resolved combos with the highest percentage returns split $50,000 in bonus prizes. Eligible combos can include tennis, baseball, combat sports, esports, and other available markets.

Here are the key terms I've found for the promotion. Keep in mind, this is only for international users, not in the U.S.

What markets can you trade with the Polymarket code?
Polymarket offers markets on a wide range of real-world events. It extends beyond sports to encompass trending news, politics, cryptocurrency, geopolitics, technology, culture, global events, and more.
It stands out as one of the best NFL prediction market sites. Sports event trading is available for all major sports and leagues, including basketball (NBA and NCAA March Madness), football (NFL, NCAAF), hockey (NHL), F1, tennis, soccer (including English Premier League, La Liga, MLS, and Champions League Final), and golf. There are plenty of niche and international sports available, with consistent additions of new betting markets. Polymarket has also moved into esports through a recent partnership with tournament organizer BLAST, which integrates its markets directly into broadcasts via prediction-focused segments, live desk references, stream branding, and on-site fan activations.
Polymarket is the official Prediction market exchange partner of the MLB. Starting this 2026 season, Polymarket has exclusive access to MLB product, including official league data from Sportradar. Polymarket will also work to restrict MLB betting markets that pose integrity risks, such as player pitch counts.
Polymarket is now the Bundesliga's official prediction market partner in the U.S., meaning users will be able to trade on Bundesliga markets starting in August.
Polymarket trading markets
Outside of sports, politics is amongst the markets with the most handle, especially in the lead-up to U.S. presidential races. Other options include:
Culture (celebrities, music, movies, awards shows like the Oscars, review ratings, TV, video games)
Example: What will be the highest-grossing movie of 2026?
Crypto (Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin, hourly values, Ethereum)
Example: Will Bitcoin be above $120,000 on a certain date?
Climate (weather, temperature, climate change, natural disasters)
Economics (interest rates, inflation, employment, consumer spending, energy)
Example: Will there be a U.S. recession in 2026? What will be the fed. decision in September?
Companies (Elon Musk, CEOs, layoffs, product launches)
Business Financials (NASDAQ, currency, treasuries)
Tech & Science (AI, space, energy, academic papers)
Example: What will be the largest company at the end of the month?
Health (disease spread, COVID)
World (foreign economies, international politics)
Polymarket live event trading
Prices on Polymarket fluctuate constantly because traders set them and adjust accordingly. As soon as new information becomes available, traders react to the news, whether by buying or selling more positions or by adjusting contracts to reflect the shift. This creates a live market where users don't have to wait until the event is officially resolved to profit. They can enter a position early and exit if the price moves in their favor.
Polymarket player props
Polymarket recently launched sports player props, offering markets where users can trade on individual player performances in NBA prediction markets, rather than overall game results. Player props may include any yards, points, touchdowns, strikeouts, goals, or other stat-based achievements specific to each sport. As with all Polymarket contracts, player props are Yes/No markets where prices indicate the market's probability for each outcome.
Strategies for profitable trading on Polymarket
When you start trading on Polymarket, it helps to have a strategy. These tips can help you make more informed decisions and minimize potential risks while trading.
Analyze data
Follow the news and check reliable sources before committing to a side. The more information you have on an event, the better your chance in the market. Avoid investing blindly in trades you find interesting, but don’t have any expertise in.
Diversify your trades
Don’t commit your entire balance to just one question. Spreading across multiple categories helps protect you if one doesn’t go your way.
Manage your exposure
Begin with smaller amounts until you’re confident in your approach. If a trade starts to move against you, exiting early can prevent more losses rather than hoping it changes at the last minute.
Monitor liquidity
Check how many buyers and sellers are active in the market. High-liquidity contracts are easier to trade fairly, while lower ones can make it harder to get in or out at a price you want.
Stay disciplined and avoid emotional decisions
Steer clear of trading during extreme volatility, and don’t let emotions like fear or excitement influence your moves. Base decisions on research and data, avoid chasing losses, and stick to a consistent, disciplined strategy.
Polymarket Combos
I see Polymarket Combos as a product with a lot of upside, but the current experience feels more confusing than it should. My coworker put it bluntly: “Combos are an awful experience. No hyperbole, top 5-10 worst betting product experience for me the last 18 years.” I think that reaction is important, not because the product is doomed, but because it shows how much friction exists today for even experienced bettors.
At the same time, I’m optimistic about the opportunity. The volume is already there on-site, which tells me users are interested despite the complexity. With better education, clearer content, and calculator tools that explain pricing, payout, probability, and risk, Polymarket Combos could become a much more trusted and engaging product. If someone with nearly two decades of betting experience can question how “scammy” these feel at first glance, then newer users will almost certainly need more guidance.
Key features and opportunities:
- Allows users to combine multiple market outcomes into one position.
- Creates more strategic, higher-upside ways to express a view.
- Current UX can feel confusing or intimidating, especially around pricing and payouts.
- Strong need for educational content, examples, and step-by-step explainers.
- Calculator tools could help users understand implied probability, expected return, and risk.
- Better transparency could make Combos feel more credible, approachable, and trustworthy.
What are Polymarket Perps?
Polymarket Perps are worth separating from the standard yes-or-no markets because they feel closer to an active trading product than a simple prediction market position. Regular Polymarket markets ask a clear question: Will this event happen or not? Perps are built more for users who want continuous exposure to price movement, market momentum, and short-term trading opportunities.
That makes them interesting, but also more advanced. I would not treat Polymarket Perps the same way I treat a championship futures market, an election market, or a one-off sports outcome. With a normal Polymarket trade, I’m buying shares tied to a defined event and resolution date. With perps, the appeal is more about active trading, timing entries and exits, and understanding how the market moves.
For me, the key things to know are:
- They are more advanced than standard Polymarket markets: Perps are better suited to users who already understand trading mechanics.
- They fit Polymarket’s crypto-native identity: This is where Polymarket feels more like a modern trading platform than a sportsbook alternative.
- They require more risk awareness: Perps can move quickly, so I would not recommend treating them like a casual promo-code play.
- They add another lane for active users: If you like Polymarket for liquidity, speed, and real-time market movement, Perps give you another way to engage beyond event contracts.
My take: I feel Polymarket Perps are a strong product expansion for experienced traders, but new users should start with standard yes-or-no markets first. They are easier to understand, cleaner to track, and a better way to learn how Polymarket prices real-world outcomes before moving into more advanced trading tools.
Does Polymarket have a referral program?
Polymarket doesn’t offer that many promotions or a referral program for existing players, but it does have a leaderboard. This feature ranks the top trades on the platform over a day, week, month, and all-time. It shows the users who are the most active and successful.
Does Polymarket give you $10?
While there is currently no program that mirrors a sportsbook referral bonus, there is an affiliate-like program, but it's distinct from a user referral or sign-up bonus, and targeted at those promoting Polymarket.
Through the Dub-powered affiliate platform, partners can earn $0.01 per click, and a $10 bonus when someone referred by you makes their first deposit via your referral link
What is the Polymarket Referral Code?
The Polymarket referral code is COVERS. Be sure to enter it when prompted.
Polymarket rewards and VIP perks
Polymarket doesn’t have a standard VIP or loyalty program, but it does offer Liquidity Rewards. This pays users for placing helpful trades that keep markets liquid and balanced. Polymarket rewards are calculated daily. The closer your trades are to the market’s average price, the more you earn.
Polymarket trading odds and fees
Polymarket shows odds through market prices, which are determined by Polymarket users in turn.
Each contract has two sides, ‘Yes’ and ‘No,’ and prices are set by traders through bids, rather than the platform itself. From there, prices fluctuate in response to supply and demand.
The displayed probability is normally the midpoint of the best bid and ask in the order book. For example, if 'Yes' is bid at $0.34 and asked at $0.40, the displayed price is about 37%. Liquidity and activity levels also affect the spreads, which in turn influence the accuracy of the shown odds.
When the market closes, winning shares pay out at $1 each, while losing shares are worthless. Polymarket also doesn’t include any margin in the prices as a sportsbook would.
As of March 2026, sports markets created on Polymarket have a new fee structure, with a peak effective fee of 0.75% at the 50/50 price point. In future expansions, the platform will roll out something similar across various other categories, including Finance, Politics, Economics, Culture, Weather, and Tech.
Polymarket customer service
Customer support at Polymarket can be reached via live chat, the Discord server, or email. I recently sent an email to support to clarify a promotion and received a detailed response within 10 minutes. I am thoroughly impressed with that level of care, given the sheer volume of queries they surely process.
With live chat, you are first connected to the AI chatbot, which can answer common queries or direct you to the detailed help center. If this doesn’t answer your question, you can request to speak with an agent.
The live chat is available 24/7 via the blue chat icon, and you’ll be connected to a representative in no time. There is also a Discord server where you can submit a ticket to initiate a private conversation with our support team.

Polymarket payment methods
Currently, Polymarket allows you to deposit money into your account via MoonPay or Polymarket USD (pUSD), the new collateral token. pUSD is 1:1 backed by USDC and mirrors the value of the U.S. dollar. You can get pUSD as a standard ERC-20 token on Polygon.
I've been pleased to see that Polymarket's deposit and withdrawal options are constantly expanding. I was excited to see they added Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App, which are about as user-friendly banking options as you can get. From what I've read, people are still desperate for Venmo and PayPal.
Cryptocurrency remains a staple, so feel free to use Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, or your preferred crypto. There is also Bitcoin Lightning, and I appreciated the opportunity to 'Connect Exchange' with Coinbase or Bybit Pay. I also noticed that Binance, Kraken, Gemini, and Gate are also listed as 'Coming Soon.' To deposit with crypto, copy and paste the address found in the deposit section into your wallet to send funds.
MoonPay is also available, allowing you to buy USDC directly on the platform using Visa, Mastercard, or a bank account. It remains to be seen whether any new payment methods will be made available once Polymarket launches in the U.S.

Polymarket Deposit Wallet
Polymarket’s Deposit Wallet migration changes how new API users deposit and trade by providing them with a dedicated deposit wallet. This is important because funds must be sent to that deposit wallet, not to a regular personal wallet, or they may not appear as available for trading. Users also need to make sure the deposit wallet is properly approved before placing trades. Overall, the change is meant to make deposits, balances, and trading activity more reliable and easier to track. Existing users are unaffected by this phase.
How does Polymarket compare to traditional sports betting?
Prediction markets are similar to financial exchanges, where users trade contracts whose prices fluctuate based on the public's perception of an event's likelihood. Sports betting is a wager placed against odds set by a sportsbook. Once the bet is locked in, both the stake and odds are fixed, and you’re betting directly against the house.
In the U.S., this is considered gambling and regulated by each state. However, prediction markets are subject to federal oversight because they are regulated as exchanges rather than gambling. You'll find many similarities between Polymarket and a traditional sportsbook, along with a bunch of 'big-picture' betting opportunities. Residents in the Golden State, for example, can trade California prediction markets on sports, despite there being no legal sports betting.
Polymarket trading limits and liquidity
Polymarket doesn’t have a maximum limit for contracts. You can technically trade as much as you want, as the platform is designed to match buyers and sellers at any price.
The real limit comes with liquidity, which refers to the number of people willing to buy or sell at a given price. In a busy market, you can usually place larger trades without moving the price too much. But in a less active market with fewer offers, even a small trade can significantly change the odds. That’s why it’s important to check the order book first.
