It also reinforces why Moon’s funding experience is different from a traditional sportsbook. Crypto deposits can require more hands-on troubleshooting, so clearer support documentation around transaction tracking is a useful quality-of-life improvement.

This is where Moon could feel more natural than a sportsbook. Crypto users are already used to trading around news, reacting quickly to price moves, and thinking in probabilities. If Moon can pair that behavior with clean yes/no markets and fast settlement, crypto and finance could become one of its strongest categories.

Moon could also use entertainment and culture markets to reach users beyond sports and crypto. These markets are usually less serious than finance or politics, but they can be highly engaging when tied to major awards shows, streaming releases, celebrity news, gaming, and pop culture.

These markets can help Moon feel less like a pure sports trading platform and more like a broader prediction market app. The challenge will be speed and clarity. Culture markets need to be listed quickly, resolved cleanly, and supported by obvious settlement sources.

Moon live event trading

Live event trading could be one of Moon’s biggest differentiators if the product is built well. A strong live trading experience would let users buy and sell contracts while a match, fight, debate, awards show, crypto move, or major news event is happening.

That creates a more active experience than a standard pre-event bet. If a team scores early in a major soccer match, a star player gets injured, Bitcoin moves sharply, or breaking news changes the odds of an event, users could react by buying, selling, or exiting positions before final settlement.

The appeal is flexibility. Users do not necessarily have to wait for an event to be resolved to profit. They can enter a position early, monitor price movement, and sell if the market moves in their favor.

The risk is infrastructure. Live markets need fast pricing, stable apps, clear order execution, and enough liquidity to support real-time trading. If Moon lags during a major soccer knockout match, UFC main event, or major crypto move, users will lose confidence quickly.

Moon player props

If Moon leans into sports, player props could eventually become an important category. I feel it's a must to let traders take positions on individual players' performances rather than only on game or tournament outcomes.

Potential Moon player prop markets could include points, yards, touchdowns, strikeouts, goals, assists, saves, shots, rebounds, or other stat-based achievements depending on the sport. Like other prediction market contracts, these would likely be structured as yes/no markets, with the price reflecting the market’s implied probability.

• Example: Will a striker score in a major soccer match?

Player props would be a natural fit for users coming from sportsbooks, but Moon would need to handle them carefully. Stat-based markets require reliable data sources, fast grading, strong limits, and clear rules around injuries, voids, substitutions, and official stat corrections.

Moon’s fee structure is more complex than a traditional sportsbook because costs can apply when I open, hold, and close a position. The most important fees to understand are the 1% opening fee, recurring holding fees, and the performance fee charged on profitable positions.

I like that Moon shows profit and loss in real time while a position is open, but I still need to account for these fees when deciding whether a trade is worth closing. Longer-held, leveraged positions can accumulate costs more quickly, so I always check the estimated P/L before exiting.

Fee transparency update: Moon says the profit or loss shown on an open position already factors in estimated closing liquidity, accrued holding fees, and applicable performance fees, giving me a closer estimate of what I would actually receive if I exited immediately.

Moon’s payment methods are a major conversion point. Crypto is the primary payment method right now, with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and more readily available. That could be a strength for experienced users and a barrier for anyone coming from Kalshi or a sportsbook.
