It’s the calm before the storm at sportsbooks as the clock ticks down to Super Bowl LX.

Big Game betting has simmered since the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots punched their tickets to Santa Clara on January 25, but in the final 72 hours before game time, that simmer is about to reach a roaring boil.

As of Thursday afternoon, the spread and Over/Under remain steady, with a market consensus of Seattle Seahawks -4.5 and a total of 45.5 points. Where those odds will trend over the next three days is still uncertain — and may vary from book to book.

The Super Bowl operates in a unique ecosystem compared to most NFL games. The NFL finale draws far more money from casual and recreational bettors than from professionals or high-stakes players.

More often than not, public betting shows fans of the favorite laying the points, while those backing the underdog skip the spread and take the moneyline. As for the total, casual bettors generally want an exciting game and often support the Over.

According to Super Bowl action reports from DraftKings, these trends are holding true for Super Bowl LX.

63% of bets and 69% of the handle are laying the points with the Seahawks, while 54% of moneyline bets and 59% of ML money are banking on the New England Patriots to pull off the upset.

Their total action is also balanced, with 51% of bets on the Over but 52% of money on the Under.
