The power surge is obviously unsustainable, but I'm along for the ride until the wheels fall off. He went deep twice yesterday and has hit all five of his homers since being recalled from the minors. He's a switch hitter who crushes right-handed pitching and gets a right-handed Ryan Gusto, who has the fourth-worst HR/9 among today's starters dating back to last season. The Marlins' bullpen is also gassed after using seven pitchers yesterday and being without any strong left-handed options today. Back the heater.

He gets the best home run matchup in Colorado's Tanner Gordon, who has the worst HR/9 among all starters today since the beginning of last season. Gordon is a fringe starter and is only in the rotation because the Rockies released Michael Lorenzen. As a starter (six games), he owns a 1.028 OPS against, with seven homers allowed in just 28+ innings. Batters are killing him the second time through the order, slashing .383/.453/.617, but even in the first plate appearance, hitters have a .673 slugging against Gordon. The Nationals could put up seven runs today, and all their starters are live on the longball, but I'll take a soon-to-be 30-HR hitter at a price on the good side of three dollars. Nationals Park also ranks as the third-best park for home runs today, per Ball Park Pal.

Rodríguez also brings real contact risk while he is on the mound: his four-seamer has been hit at a 63.6% hard-hit rate with a .668 xSLG despite a 22.6% usage rate.
Lambert is the more fly-ball-oriented starter, ranking in the 30th percentile in ground-ball rate at 38.9% with a 33.0% fly-ball rate. I still expect him to limit barrels, but that batted-ball profile leaves enough home-run upside for New York to contribute. Houston should do most of the scoring damage, and the Yankees only need to provide enough support for this total to get over 8.5.

Moneyline
This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.
It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.
Run line
The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.
The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.
Totals (Over/Under)
Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.
