Byron Buxton returned late from the All-Star break, but picked up four hits in the recently-concluded series with the Guardians. He boasts an elite matchup rating on Batters-Box vs. Jacob Lopez, who's been throwing batting practice all year long (6.64 ERA). Lopez's opposite number is Zebby Matthews, who hasn't pitched much better. That's why I'm hitching my wagon to two of the hottest A's bats since the break; Jacob Wilson (1.097 OPS) and Tyler Soderstrom (.968 OPS). Both bullpens are in the bottom third in xFIP over the last two weeks, increasing the opportunities for all three hitters. Play to +450.

Elly De La Cruz is on a roll since the second half started (1.060 OPS), and he brings a 93rd percentile hard-hit rate into a matchup with Dustin May's eighth percentile one. Alec Burleson is batting .414 since the break, and Rhett Lowder has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball all season (5.64 xERA). Two bullpens ranked in the bottom third in xFIP over the last two weeks will only help contribute to the Over tonight. Play to +400.

Okamoto's hitting profile perfectly matches up well against Imanaga’s stuff. The Cubs starter throws a heavy dose of the fastball and gets barreled up at a 10.4% rate. The Jays third baseman barrels the ball better than anyone in the Blue Jays lineup with a 13.5% barrel rate, while owning a 63.2% hard hit rate against the four-seamer.
Swanson is just 1-for-6 against Cease in his career. Cease has electric stuff, leading the American League with 110 Ks, while ranking in the 97th percentile in K-rate. Springer is turning a corner with a 1.089 OPS over his last nine games.

San Francisco is just the offense to kick-start the regression, too. The Giants are pacing the majors in wOBA and fourth in xwOBA over the past 30 days, after all.
