The MLS schedule provides us with our final midweek matchday until mid-October with Matchday 24 action this Wednesday.

The midweek slate features 14 matches, headlined by a showdown in Chicago, where Robert Lewandowski and the Fire host Lionel Messi and Inter Miami.

Expert MLS moneyline picks for Matchday 24

Atlanta United FC vs Orlando City SC pick: Draw

DraftKings Predictions probability: 27%

These two clubs don't particularly like each other, and this is the third time this year they've played one another in all competitions. This is just the second time in seven meetings they'll play in the ATL, and Orlando has just eight points in 11 away fixtures. However, Atlanta's got the second-fewest points at home in the East.

They'll both fight to the bitter end not to lose, and will walk away with a point each. 

CF Montreal vs Charlotte FC pick: Charlotte

DraftKings Predictions probability: 34%

Montreal has gone four straight without a win, and they've been outscored 12-4 in that span. Charlotte's conceded just five goals in their last five outings, and they can move to third in the Eastern Conference with a win on Wednesday. Ashley Westwood's suspension won't be enough to derail them from doing just that. 

D.C. United vs Columbus Crew pick: Draw

DraftKings Predictions probability: 27%

The Crew finally got a much-needed win this weekend, and now travel to DC where they've claimed a result in each of their last five visits. With DC United having a week and a half off given their match with Cincinnati was suspended, their freshness will help them get a result—but only via a draw. 

Philadelphia Union vs FC Cincinnati pick: Draw

DraftKings Predictions probability: 21%

The return of Kai Wagner and the emergence of Caden Sullivan have pushed Philly to claim 11 points from their last five matches. That said, Cincinnati's match postponement on Saturday gives them a major rest advantage, and they're ticked off about their last outing against Nashville.

I think Philly's probability is a bit too high given the situation and the opponent, so I'll jump on the value and back the draw. 

Toronto FC vs Nashville SC pick: Nashville

DraftKings Predictions probability: 43%

Nashville's four-match winning streak came to an end with a scoreless draw at NYCFC, as they managed just two efforts on goal from 13 shots and 1.60 xG. Toronto's coming off a thrilling 4-4 draw with Chicago, but if their defense is going to keep conceding high volumes of quality chances, this is a team that will absolutely punish them for it.

Take Nashville to pick up their 10th win in 13 league matches. 

New York City FC vs New England Revolution pick: New England

DraftKings Predictions probability: 31%

I'm still not sure how the Revs didn't beat the Galaxy. They fell 2-1 despite having 1.17 more xG and tripling the Galaxy's shot total. That said, I am backing them to get three points as they come back east and take on an NYCFC side that is still dealing with a ton of injuries and has not gone seven matches without a win in all comps. 

Austin FC vs Colorado Rapids pick: Austin

DraftKings Predictions probability: 38%

Colorado's last four away fixtures have resulted in defeats, and they've been held scoreless in each of their last three road trips. They've claimed just seven points in 12 away fixtures, and aren't likely to defeat an Austin side that is unbeaten in its last four in the league. Add in the rare back-to-back home fixtures for Austin, and I love them at this probability. 

Chicago Fire FC vs Inter Miami CF pick: Chicago

DraftKings Predictions probability: 45%

I said last week that Inter Miami was a no-play at their pricing, and I'm glad I did. Their 2-2 draw with Atlanta saw them drop points via a late penalty, but Atlanta were dominant after halftime and had a 3.0-1.65 xG adv.

The Fire are scoring for fun behind Robert Lewandowski, and only a Leagues Cup defeat to Monterrey has blemished their record over the past 10 matches. Jonathan Bamba's likely return spurs them to victory over a fraudulent Miami squad. 

Houston Dynamo FC vs Real Salt Lake pick: Houston

DraftKings Predictions probability: 56%

Houston has a problem in front of goal. They've managed just three goals their last five matches and come in off the back of a pair of scoreless draws. Thankfully the answer to their woes could be Real Salt Lake, whose 2-2 draw with LAFC ended a four-match losing streak. R

SL have just one win and three draws in 11 away matches in the league, and will fail to keep a clean sheet for the seventh straight outing as they fall again on the road. 

Minnesota United FC vs FC Dallas pick: Dallas

DraftKings Predictions probability: 28%

An extremely late penalty spared Dallas from a humiliating draw with Sporting KC after falling behind 2-0 early in the match. Meanwhile, Minnesota scored four goals in Portland—and lost. Their defensive issues will again bite them against a Dallas side with the second-most points away from home in the league. 

LAFC vs New York Red Bulls pick: Draw

DraftKings Predictions probability: 18%

LAFC's post World Cup bump was nice while it lasted. The Black and Gold have gone six straight without a win in all competitions, and have drawn their last three. Their probability to win of 68% is in no way justified. The Red Bulls have stayed out west following a scoreless draw in Seattle and they'll come back home with another point as things finish level in the City of Angels. 

Portland Timbers vs St. Louis City SC pick: St. Louis City

DraftKings Predictions probability: 33%

If you're giving me this kind of probability for St. Louis to win, I'll gladly take it. Their 3-1 win at Vancouver sent a message to the league, in case their 14-match unbeaten run in all competitions hadn't already put folks on notice. 

San Diego FC vs San Jose Earthquakes pick: San Diego

DraftKings Predictions probability: 54%

You have to go back to May 23 for San Jose's last win, as their late capitulation against Austin doomed them to an eighth consecutive match without a victory. The injuries continue to pile up, and Timo Werner will miss out again. San Diego has won five in a row in all comps, outscoring opponents 11-3, and they're great value to pick up another victory.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs LA Galaxy pick: Vancouver

DraftKings Predictions probability: 71%

I'm never a fan of this kind of pricing, but Vancouver has won eight of 12 at home and the Galaxy's win over the weekend was a fortunate one. It was also just their second win in 10 in the league, and they'll fall here if they allow half the scoring chances they surrendered to the Revs.
