Week 3 of the MLS slate saw some surprising results, but some teams are starting to separate themselves from the pack.
There have only been five draws through the first 44 matches of the MLS campaign. That’s as many stalemates as we saw in the opening weekend of the 2025 season.
With CONCACAF Champions League action already seeing some fixture congestion, I break down why we might see more sharing of the spoils in my free MLS Week 4 moneyline picks.
Read on for our MLS predictions and free betting picks for Week 4 of the campaign.

Toronto FC vs
New York Red Bulls
Pick: Toronto (+145)
The Red Bulls are entertaining to watch, but quite inconsistent so far. Toronto’s playing at home for the first time, coming off an impressive win at Cincinnati, and Josh Sargent is set to make his debut. I love getting them to win at this price.
Atlanta United FC vs
Philadelphia Union
Pick: Draw (+250)
This is a matchup of two bad teams. Atlanta is struggling to defend. Philadelphia can’t score. This feels like a 1-1 stalemate.
Columbus Crew SC vs
Nashville SC
Pick: Nashville (-102)
The Crew are still trying to figure out what kind of team they want to be. Nashville comes in off the back of a hard-fought draw with Inter Miami, but they’ve got Sam Surridge and Hany Mukhtar in attack. They should find success against a Crew side struggling against quality playmakers.
New York City FC vs
Colorado Rapids
Pick: NYCFC (-172)
NYCFC’s 5-0 win over Orlando was aided by the early red card to Crepeau, but they were already swarming before the man advantage. They’ve looked quite impressive early on, and Colorado has lost five straight on the road dating back to last August. NYCFC should take all three points behind a lethal counter-attack.
Charlotte FC vs
Inter Miami FC
Pick: Inter Miami (-105)
Speaking of Miami, they defended fairly well against Nashville with Dayne St. Clair looking like the breakout GK he was a season ago. The creativity in the past two matches has suffered a bit as they’ve solidified that back line, but they should find chances against a Charlotte side that has looked poor when they’ve not held a man advantage.
Orlando City SC vs vs
CF Montreal
Pick: Orlando (-137)
Maxime Crepeau took an extremely early shower when he lost track of where he was, and a 5-0 defeat cost Oscar Pareja his job. Reports indicate he had lost the locker room, and this Orlando team has too much attacking power to keep losing. I like the Lions to get a new-manager bump against a Montreal side with a very shaky defense.
Chicago Fire vs
D.C. United
Pick: Draw (+300)
DC United actually looked solid against Inter Miami, especially on defense. The Fire got a solid draw in Columbus last weekend, but I’ve yet to see anything special. I expect these two defenses to cancel each other out.
FC Dallas vs
San Diego FC
Pick: San Diego (+145)
I’m getting +145 odds for the better team, and I’m going to take it. FC Dallas has only allowed three goals, but this San Diego attack is lethal when clicking. They’ve managed three straight clean sheet victories to begin the MLS campaign and will get another win on Saturday.
Houston Dynamo vs
Portland Timbers
Pick: Houston (-102)
The Dynamo come in off a week of rest, and are facing a Portland side coming off consecutive defeats. The Timbers coughed up four goals to Vancouver, and Guilherme is the kind of playmaker who is giving them fits. He will lift the Dynamo to victory.
LA Galaxy vs
Sporting Kansas City
Pick: LA Galaxy (-182)
This is a tricky spot for the Galaxy. Gabriel Pec is suspended, while Joseph Paintsil is out for a few weeks after picking up an injury in the defeat to the Rapids. But they still have enough firepower to get the job done against a bad Sporting side that hasn’t taken an away point since last Fourth of July.
Real Salt Lake vs
Austin FC
Pick: Real Salt Lake (-108)
It’s time to take notice of the youth movement in Utah. Real Salt Lake has handed the reins to Zavier Gozo and Aiden Hezarkhani, and they’ve now terrorized the left-sided defenses of both Seattle and Atlanta. They’ve offset the absence of Diego Luna, and will cause issues for this Austin team that is struggling without Brandon Vazquez and Owen Wolff.
LAFC vs
St. Louis CITY SC
Pick: LAFC (-294)
Consecutive defeats to San Diego and the Sounders have St Louis sitting with just one point. Things get no easier against an LAFC side that has established itself as perhaps the team to beat in the league. They’re not creating enough scoring chances, and this LAFC attack could put them to the sword.
New England Revolution vs
FC Cincinnati
Pick: Draw (+260)
Cincinnati’s attack finally showed up against Tigres in CONCACAF on Thursday night, but Evander is still not ready to play a full match. They’re a better side than New England, but the Revs have had a week off and weren’t awful against the Red Bulls. They’ll play compact and frustrate a Cincy side that hasn’t scored in their last two MLS outings.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs
Minnesota United FC
Pick: Vancouver (-204)
Vancouver’s midfield may be the best in the league, but their 3-0 loss to Seattle in CONCACAF Champions League on Thursday night was eye-opening. But this Minnesota defense has shown serious flaws, and the Whitecaps still have a lethal attack. A draw wouldn’t shock me, but I think Vancouver gets the job done.
San Jose Earthquakes vs
Seattle Sounders FC
Pick: San Jose (+130)
The Sounders have looked great early on, but traveling to St. Louis last weekend, Vancouver on Thursday, and then to San Jose will take a bit of a toll. San Jose has yet to concede a goal, and Timo Werner may get his first start with how well he’s already settling in. His pace will cause issues for a tired Seattle defense.
