On Wednesday, we have two teams facing off at Yankee Stadium as Liverpool face Wrexham in a preseason friendly.
Liverpool might have the bigger reputation of the two clubs, but my Liverpool vs. Wrexham predictions suggest Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ team offer the better value here as +375 underdogs.
Read on for my betting picks for Wednesday, July 29 with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Who will win Liverpool vs Wrexham: Wrexham (+375 at Kalshi)
Liverpool are heavy favorites, which would be right if this were based on reputation or status, but with everything surrounding this preseason friendly, Wrexham hold value.
We won’t see Liverpool’s World Cup stars, with Alexis Mac Allister, Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Cody Gakpo, Alexander Isak, and Florian Wirtz all missing, while Hugo Ekitike is injured and unlikely to play.
That leaves a threadbare team for Andoni Iraola’s men, with fringe players who are linked with moves away from the club — such as Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa — likely to play alongside youth players.
Meanwhile, Wrexham have been playing in their preseason friendlies with a fairly strong lineup, one that isn’t far from what we’ll see from them when the Championship season starts.
They might not have the talent of Liverpool’s fringe stars and youngsters, but they’re familiar with playing alongside each other and have the motivation of playing against a world-renowned team like Liverpool.
We’ve seen Wrexham already upset Manchester United and Leeds in preseason, and at such big odds, it’s worth taking them to win here at anything north of +300.
Liverpool vs Wrexham Over/Under pick: Over 3.5 (-117 at Kalshi)
When it comes to picking a total, I’d lean Over 3.5 goals here, but I don’t have the conviction I do with my best bet.
Liverpool scored four in a six-goal matchup with Sunderland at the weekend, while Wrexham beat Leeds 3-2 in the first game of their U.S. tour.
For most managers, preseason is used as a fitness tool, and I expect similar here. This is likely to mean players taking it slightly below 100%, which can lead to goals.
Wrexham have plenty of scorers in their lineup, and it is notable Sam Smith scored against Leeds, making it two winning goals in a row for the 28-year-old.
On the Liverpool side of things, we saw two of the established players in their lineup, Dominik Szoboszlai and Chiesa, bag against Sunderland, and they have dangerous young players too, with Rio Ngumoha’s dribbling on the flank likely to ask questions of the Wrexham defenders.
