The Premier League weekend starts early as Everton and Coventry City meet under the floodlights at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Coventry have struggled away from home, which is why my Everton vs Coventry predictions back Everton to take all three points.

Coventry are underdogs with a 20% chance of winning, while the draw is slightly more likely at 24%. That leaves Everton as favorites with a 56% chance of victory. The game kicks off on Friday, Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. ET on USA Network.

Everton vs Coventry City predictions

My Everton vs Coventry City top pick: Everton to win (56% probability)

When Frank Lampard sets his team up to play away from home in the Premier League, he favors a defense-first strategy. That's partly why Coventry rank dead last in away xG, compared with 13th at home. It's understandable, but it leaves them relying on the counterattack, something that could prove difficult against a smart, David Moyes-led Everton side.

Everton have the attacking tools to win. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's dribbling helps them transition into the final third, while his passing creates chances for teammates. Thierno Barry might only have four goals to his name, but he has the second-highest xG of any player in the league behind Erling Haaland, showing that he's getting into good positions to score.

My Everton vs Coventry City Over/Under pick: Under 2.5 goals (45% probability)

All signs point to this being a low-scoring game. Coventry have scored just twice away from home this season and rank 19th in shots per game on the road, averaging just 9.5.

Everton's midfield duo of Harrison Armstrong and James Garner will sit deep and shield the back four, with particular focus on Jack Rudoni, who has been Coventry's best player this season and their main goal threat with his runs from deep. Assigning a midfielder to mark Rudoni should help neutralize Coventry's attacking threat.

Everton haven't scored more than two goals in a home league game this season and have also kept two clean sheets.
