The Gunners claim another preseason Emirates Cup as our experts lean towards the Arsenal moneyline in this matchup.

Arsenal looks to win their 10th Emirates Cup in 15 attempts when they host Borussia Dortmund on Sunday morning at the Emirates.

The preseason showcase is Arsenal’s second-to-last warmup affair ahead of next weekend’s Community Shield against Manchester City, and they’ll face a Dortmund side replacing a lot of key players.

My Arsenal vs. Borussia Dortmund predictions are backing the Gunners to win in high-scoring fashion.

Who will win Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund: Arsenal

Borussia Dortmund enters Sunday stripped of core veterans and key defenders, leaving an gel-deprived squad facing a tough road test.

While Arsenal rests several post-World Cup starters, their depth remains vastly superior. With star power like Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel, and Martin Odegaard available to punish Dortmund's shaky preseason backline, the Gunners hold a massive talent edge.

Expect Arteta’s side to handle business at home — back Arsenal to win down to -175.

Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund picks and predictions

My Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund best bet: Arsenal moneyline (-162)

Fans of Borussia Dortmund may not recognize much of the team on Sunday. Numerous key players from years gone by have departed, including Karim Adeyemi, Julian Brandt, and Niklas Sule.

Making matters worse, they’ll be without CB Nico Schlotterbeck at the back. Meanwhile, winger Carney Chukwuemeka is a serious doubt after suffering a knee knock in their last friendly.

That leaves a squad with a lot of missing pieces, all trying to gel while playing in hostile territory. And while Arsenal are without the bulk of their starters after the World Cup, they have vastly more depth. That’s a key reason why they’re heavily favored to win.

Mikel Arteta can call on the likes of ST Viktor Gyokeres, LW Gabriel Martinelli, and young attacking starlet Max Dowman. That’s the sort of pace and technical ability that can punish a Dortmund back line that has looked shaky at times this preseason.

Add in the likes of CB Gabriel and CM Martin Odegaard making appearances, and one of these sides is clearly more talented.

Despite the juice, I’m backing Arsenal to win at home down to -175.

Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund Over/Under Pick: Over 3.5 (+131)

The total for this match is 2.5 goals, but I’m not comfortable with the immense juice. That’s why I’m taking the alternate line of Over 3.5 instead.

Arsenal won the Premier League title on the back of their stout defense. But CM Declan Rice, CB William Saliba, and GK David Raya are all still out following their deep runs into the World Cup.

As a result, they’re allowing goals this preseason. Real Betis put three past them the last time out, and they failed to keep a clean sheet the match prior against Girona.

Those two matches have seen a total of nine goals scored, and you can see Arteta taking the shackles off this team to see what they can do. That's leading to more attacking play and freedom from the forwards.

On the flip side, Dortmund will take happiness in seeing Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal for Arsenal. He’s a mistake-prone keeper who conceded all three goals scored by Betis.

Dortmund still have quality players to rely on. CM Jobe Bellingham is entering what could be his final season ahead of a big-money move, and ST Fabio Silva and LW Samuele Inacio lead a line capable of scoring goals.

I’m playing this alternate line down to +120.
