Matt Boldy is on a roll and faces a Chicago Blackhawks team that is anything but sound defensively. Take advantage of this generous price on Boldy to score for the Minnesota Wild tonight.

The Chicago Blackhawks host the Minnesota Wild tonight at the United Center at 7:00 p.m. ET. NHL odds have Minnesota as a -185 favorite, while the total sits at 6.

Minnesota has been scoring at a high rate with 3.71 goals per game, and my Wild vs. Blackhawks predictions believe that this offensive output will continue in this matchup, with Matt Boldy notching his name on the scoresheet.

Read on for my NHL picks for Sunday, November 10.

Wild vs Blackhawks prediction

My best bet
Matt Boldy Over 0.5 goals (+175 at FanDuel)

My analysis

Instead of backing the Minnesota Wild’s offense as a whole, I want to specifically target forward Matt Boldy to find the back of the net. He enters this contest in great form, scoring six goals over his past nine games.

Half of those goals have come on the power play, which is certainly an achievable way to beat the Chicago Blackhawks. They rank in the bottom half of the league in penalty-kill percentage at 77.8%.

Boldy is also a threat to score at even-strength, where he skates on the second line alongside Marcus Johansson and Joel Eriksson Ek. This line is slated to go against Chicago’s Taylor Hall-Philipp Kurashev-Tyler Bertuzzi line, which ranks 32nd among the 47 forward lines to play at least 75 minutes this season in xGA/60.

Additionally, goaltender Petr Mrazek is slated to guard the cage for the Hawks. He’s allowed three or more goals in six of his past seven starts, posting a .892 SV% over that stretch.

Finally, Boldy has scored four goals over the past seven meetings between these two teams.

Wild vs Blackhawks same-game parlay (SGP)

Matt Boldy Over 0.5 goals

Joel Eriksson Ek Over 0.5 assists

Wild moneyline

Joel Eriksson Ek skates alongside Boldy on both the second line and the first power play unit. It’s highly correlated that he’ll contribute an assist to any Boldy goal.

If we are backing these two skaters to record points, then there is an increased probability of Minnesota winning this game. This season, the Wild outrank the Blackhawks in xGF/60, xGA/60, and expected goal differential per 60 minutes.
