Red Wings vs Rangers Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Panarin Powers New York

The Rangers have quietly been one of the most exciting teams this season and Artemi Panarin has been a key cog in the machine. Panarin has a point in every game this season and is often grabbing multiples. Our betting picks expect more of the same.

The New York Rangers will put their lengthy seven-game point streak on the line tonight when they welcome the Detroit Red Wings to Madison Square Garden in an Original Six matchup on the NHL odds board.

Artemi Panarin comes into the contest with points in all 11 games this season, with his 18 points ranking just three off the league lead. Will Panarin extend both his own and his club’s point streaks tonight?

We’ll discuss further in our Red Wings vs Rangers NHL picks and predictions for Tuesday, November 7.

Red Wings vs Rangers predictions

Artemi Panarin has been red hot to start this season, racking up 18 points in 11 games while matching Darren Turcotte (1990-91) for the second-longest season-opening point streak in New York Rangers history.

Along with Toronto’s William Nylander, who extended his season-opening run to 12 games on Monday night, Panarin is the only other player to record a point in each of his team’s contests this season.

The Bread Man has been doing it in style, too, collecting six multi-point games with five of those outings coming in his last seven contests. Panarin has been especially deadly on the man advantage, where he’s collected half of his 18 points, helping the Rangers power play click at 31.6% — the fourth-best mark in the league.

Panarin has absolutely torched the Detroit Red Wings throughout his career with 28 points in 19 career meetings, averaging more than 1.5 points per game over that span while posting multiple points in seven of his last 13 contests versus Detroit.

I’ll be looking for the Rangers winger to keep his streak alive with another multi-point performance tonight.

My best bet: Artemi Panarin Over 1.5 points (+140 at DraftKings)

Red Wings vs Rangers same-game parlay

Rangers to score first

Red Wings team total Under 2.5

Rangers moneyline

We’ll go heavy on the Rangers in tonight’s same-game parlay as we look for New York to score the first goal, take the win, and hold Detroit to Under 2.5 goals — DraftKings doesn't have individual player points listed as an option for the SGP, so our best bet isn't included here.

Jonathan Quick will get the call in net for New York and he looks to be having a resurgence so far this season, posting two shutouts and a sterling .948 save percentage through four games — tied for the fourth-best mark among all goaltenders. Quick has given up more than one goal just once this season.

The Rangers have opened the scoring in eight of 11 games, going 6-1-1 in those contests, while the Red Wings have scored first just five times in their 12 outings. Look for New York to build an early lead and hold on for the win.

Red Wings vs Rangers moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Rangers are likely missing a couple of key players in Adam Fox and Igor Shesterkin but still opened as the healthy home favorites at -170 on the moneyline, with the total coming in at 6.0. As mentioned in the same-game parlay, I like New York on the moneyline and I’ll also be taking the Under tonight.

The Rangers have quietly been one of the NHL’s best teams through the first month of the season, with their .773 points percentage ranking fourth behind only the Golden Knights, Bruins, and Canucks. New York has benefited from strong defense and goaltending as the Blueshirts have surrendered a mere 24 goals in 11 games — only Boston has allowed fewer goals (23).

Detroit is scoring at a solid clip with 45 goals in 12 games — tied for fourth most in the league — but Quick should give the Rangers a clear edge in net as Ville Husso has posted a .896 save percentage through eight games.

These clubs love to play tight, low-scoring games as the Under has cashed in 15 of their last 18 meetings. The Rangers and Red Wings have combined for more than six goals just twice in their last 10 matchups.

New York has played to the Under in seven of its last nine contests, allowing more than two goals just four times in 11 games this season, so I expect another strong defensive outing from them tonight.
