Between the success of Seattle's Joey Daccord in net and this Kraken offense not producing much on the other end, don't expect goals to come easy for either side tonight. Read more in our Red Wings vs. Kraken betting picks below.

The Seattle Kraken have earned a couple of impressive victories against the Islanders and Bruins this past week and will look to push their win streak to three when they host the Detroit Red Wings this afternoon.

Joey Daccord continues his hot play between the pipes for Seattle — boasting a .983 SV% in his three appearances since the All-Star break — and will get the call again for the Kraken today.

Find out if Daccord can backstop his club to a third straight win in my Red Wings vs. Kraken NHL picks and predictions this Monday, February 19.

Red Wings vs Kraken predictions

The Seattle Kraken skate into Monday on the back of two strong showings as they collected a 2-1 win against the Islanders on Tuesday and a 4-1 victory over the Bruins on Thursday. Joey Daccord, who gets the call this afternoon for Seattle, continued his strong play against Boston as he stopped 36 of 37 shots in the win.

Low-scoring games have been a strong trend for the Kraken of late as each of their last six games has featured six goals or fewer. Daccord has been a key contributor to that trend as he’s held opponents to two goals or less in five of his last eight starts while allowing more than three goals just once over that span.

At the same time, the Kraken haven’t put many pucks in the net themselves. Seattle has scored more than two goals just once in its last five games while averaging a mere 1.80 gpg over that span.

At the other end of the rink, the Detroit Red Wings have been one of the better offensive teams in the NHL this season at 3.48 gpg (sixth) but have cooled off slightly over their last five contests, scoring 3.20 gpg through that span while each of their last two outings have featured five total goals or fewer.

Coupling a hot Daccord with a cold Kraken attack, I’m taking the Under 6 as my best bet.

My best bet: Under 6 (+100 at DraftKings)

Red Wings vs Kraken same-game parlay

Under 6

Kraken moneyline

Daniel Sprong Over 2.5 shots on goal

Both teams are trending toward the Under of late with Detroit cashing it in 10 of its last 15 games and Seattle going 6-0 in its last six.

The Kraken are also coming off two impressive wins, most notably defeating the Bruins 4-1 on Thursday. Daccord has been one of the league’s best goaltenders this season with a .923 SV% and should give Seattle an edge over Detroit as Alex Lyon owns an .827 SV% over his last three starts.

Daniel Sprong is shooting the lights out for Detroit with a team-high 12 shots in four games since the All-Star break. He’s recorded 3+ in six of his last nine contests.

Red Wings vs Kraken moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Kraken opened as the home favorite at -132 on the moneyline for Monday’s matchup and generally held steady there through Sunday night, though they inched up as high as -150 at some books. Daccord has been an X-factor in most of Seattle’s wins this season and I expect him to give the Kraken the edge again this afternoon.

Daccord has made 34+ saves in each of his three games since the All-Star break, boasting a .938 SV% and 2.39 GAA over that span. At the same time, Lyon has cratered in the Detroit cage, allowing 14 total goals over his last three starts to go with an .827 SV% and a 5.01 GAA.

The Red Wings haven’t given their goaltenders much help recently, though, as they’ve been one of the worst clubs in the league at 5-on-5 since returning from the break. Detroit owns just 41% of the expected goals at 5-on-5 over that span — fifth worst in the NHL — while giving up nearly 67 shot attempts per 60 minutes, which ranks sixth worst.

The total opened at 6 and even crept up to 6.5 at some books, where it looks like a slam dunk pick to me.

The Kraken have seen six total goals or fewer scored in each of their last six games while they’ve cashed the Under in eight of their last 10 outings. The Red Wings have also slightly favored the Under of late, cashing the Under in four of their last seven with four of those games featuring five goals or fewer.
