The Philadelphia Flyers travel to New York on Monday to take on the Rangers as Philly looks to snap out of a 1-4 SU funk that has it sitting on the outside of the playoff picture midway through the season.

The Rangers are coming off a 4-0 win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday and have star Artemi Panarin back in the lineup, but oddsmakers have the Flyers as a -115 favorite.

Here are our free NHL betting picks and predictions for Flyers vs Rangers for Monday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET.

NHL sharp money and line movement report

By Patrick Everson

Philadelphia opened as a -126 favorite Sunday evening at FanDuel and has since gone a few cents in each direction, initially dipping to -118, then rising to -130, and the moneyline is -122 as of 4 p.m. ET. The Flyers are attracting 61 percent of tickets and money. The total opened at 5.5 (Over -134), twice bounced to 6.5 Sunday night, and it's now 6.5 (Under -122), with 71 percent of tickets and money on the Under.

Moneyline pick

The Flyers bring their poor form into the Big Apple on Monday as Alain Vigneault’s group is 2-5 SU in its last seven with just one win in regulation. The Flyers have been victims of poor defense and goaltending and the club has allowed 29 goals over the seven-game stretch.

The Rangers get an optimal time to face the Flyers as Philadelphia is having a goalie crisis with Carter Hart and Brian Elliott struggling to take hold of the starting job. Elliott was pulled in his last start after giving up three goals on 10 shots while Hart has allowed 13 goals over his last 75 shots faced.

The return of Panarin motivated the Rangers last Saturday as they blanked the Bruins 4-0. Defensively, they held Boston to under double-digit shots in each period and held one of the league’s most potent power plays to zero goals on six attempts.

Speaking of the Rangers’ penalty killing, the Rags have been exceptional shorthanded, successfully killing 16 of the last 17 penalties.

Saturday's starting goalie, Keith Kinkaid, was the unlikely recipient of a shutout. Kinkaid would seem like an easy goalie to fade but the veteran netminder has stopped 70 of the 75 shots he has seen since joining the team earlier this month. He could get the start again Monday but the Rangers have plenty of options in net, especially if Igor Shesterkin can return from a groin injury.

The Flyers have dominated these matchups going 10-2 SU over the last 12 meetings, but at -115 for a struggling team with severe goaltending issues, we have no problem throwing down on the home dog Monday. New York has been an underdog at home in eight games this year, winning five of them.

We like this to be another close game as Philadelphia is desperate and the Rangers are coming off their biggest win of the season.

PREDICTION: Rangers (-105)

Over/Under pick

Philadelphia has been one of the league’s best Over teams this season with a 16-8 O/U mark on the year. The Flyers are 6-1 O/U in their last seven as a combination of poor goaltending and a balanced offensive attack have contributed to cashing the Overs.

Philly can roll three solid lines at the Rangers that are capable of scoring on any shift, and their fourth line of Nolan Patrick and Oskar Lindblom have more offensive talent than most teams' third lines.

Defensively, the Flyers are allowing over four goals per game since the beginning of the month (seven games) which is a bottom-10 mark. It doesn’t matter who they throw in net as both Elliott and Hart are in the midst of some struggles.

With Panarin back, the Rangers have a much better offense as the winger has collected 19 points in 15 games with seven of those coming on the power play. He gives the Blue Shirts two solid lines of scoring potential.

Kinkaid has exceeded expectations since joining the team as a third goalie. He has been hot of late but with a below-average career mark of 2.92 GAA, the 31-year-old netminder can’t keep this pace up. It may not be Monday, but regression is coming.

The Flyers have thrown away late leads as well as come back from multiple-goal deficits all year. Few teams in the league are built so perfectly for the Over than Philadelphia.
