We have an AFC West clash with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers meeting at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers will want to get back to winning ways following their defeat last time out, and this is a perfect spot to do so.

My Raiders vs. Chargers predictions and NFL picks believe the Chargers will cover the spread in a lower-scoring affair.

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early Raiders vs Chargers spread pick: Chargers -9.5

-110 at FanDuel

There’s no other way to say it: the Los Angeles Chargers are one of the league’s most confusing teams. They'll look red hot one week and get dominated the next.

They got embarrassed by the Jaguars 35-6 two weeks ago and have had the bye week to right the wrongs of that game. They'll be hungry to face a bottom-feed Las Vegas Raiders team this weekend.

The Chargers are 3-0 against their rival in the AFC West and 2-0-1 ATS against their divisional opponents, including a 20-9 win over this LV squad back in September.

The worry for the Raiders is that they rank 30th in offensive DVOA and are dead last in scoring offense. The Chargers, despite failing to score a touchdown against the Jaguars, did score 24+ points in the five games before that, and it’s hard to see the Raiders keeping up with them.

It’s hard to be truly confident backing the Chargers against the spread, given how inconsistent they are this year, but they should manage it this weekend.

Early Raiders vs Chargers total pick: Under 41.5

-112 at FanDuel

When it comes to picking a best bet for this game, at this early point, we’d have to tackle the total ahead of the spread, with Under 41.5 points feeling like the way to go at this point.

This Raiders offense is averaging just 15 points per game, the lowest mark in the league. They managed just 10 points last week against a poor Browns team and have averaged just 11 points scored per game over the past three weeks.

The Under is 7-4 for the Raiders this season, 3-0 in their divisional games, 4-1 in their games on the road, and they’ve hit the Over just twice in their previous seven games. The Under is 6-5 in L.A.'s games this season and 2-1 in their divisional games.

This game sees a Raiders team that isn’t able to put up big numbers face a Chargers team that's wildly inconsistent. The Chargers are averaging 22.4 points scored per game, but it’s hard to know which team will turn up.

Will it be the Chargers that scored 25 against the Steelers, or the team that managed only two field goals against the Jags in the following week?
