It was a historic offensive performance for the Indianapolis Colts last week, and now they will host one of the best defenses in the NFL when the Denver Broncos come into Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Broncos should be able to contain the Colts' offense and slow down the pace of the game.

Find out who I like in my Broncos vs. Colts predictions and NFL picks for Sunday, September 14.

Broncos vs Colts prediction

Broncos vs Colts Best bet: Broncos -2.5 (-102)

Daniel Jones led the Indianapolis Colts offense last week to a historic performance by being the first team in the NFL dating back to 1991 to score points on every single offensive possession in a game. However, the Dolphins' defense had a lot to do with that outcome.

The Denver Broncos have the defending NFL Defensive Player of the Year and a couple of other contenders to win it this year. They just held Tennessee to only 133 total yards and 12 points. That was despite the offense and special teams turning the ball over four times to the Titans.

The Colts did not turn the ball over last week, but again, I believe that was more on how bad the Dolphins' defense was. Jones had nine turnovers in his 10 starts at quarterback for the New York Giants last year. He has a better team around him now, but not that much better.

The Broncos won 31-13 at home against the Colts last year, and their defense could be even better this year. I would also expect them to clean up the turnovers on offense and take advantage of the Colts' weak rushing defense.

Broncos vs Colts same-game parlay

To add to my best bet, I am going to add Jones Under 28.5 rushing yards. He had only 26 yards on seven carries last week against a much worse defense.

Additionally, we will add J.K. Dobbins to go over his rushing total against a weak run defense as the go-to ball carrier for the Broncos.

Broncos vs Colts SGP

  • Broncos -2.5
  • Daniel Jones Under 28.5 rushing yards
  • J.K. Dobbins Over 47.5 rushing yards

Our big-ticket SGP: Touchdown for Tyler!

  • Adding Colts rookie tight end Tyler Warren to find the endzone will really boost our odds since we are on the Broncos to win and cover.
  • Warren had nine targets last week and could be even more utilized to get rid of the ball quickly against a great pass rush.

Broncos vs Colts SGP

  • Broncos -2.5
  • Daniel Jones Under 28.5 rushing yards
  • J.K. Dobbins Over 47.5 rushing yards
  • Tyler Warren anytime touchdown

Broncos vs Colts odds

  • Spread: Broncos -3.5 (-105) | Colts +3.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Broncos -185 | Colts +150
  • Over/Under: Over 44.5 (-110) | Under 44.5 (-110)
