Mississippi State is coming off a strong performance against Georgia but despite putting up a fight, lost for the fifth time in their last six games. Ole Miss is coming off back-to-back wins and is installed as a 9.5-point favorite with the total set at a whopping 67.5.

We break down the college football odds with our best picks and predictions for Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss on Saturday, November 28, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. ET.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

Ole Miss will be looking for revenge after they lost the Egg Bowl in controversial fashion last year, when wide receiver Elijah Moore scored with seconds left but then mimicked a dog peeing and the Rebels were handed a penalty on the ensuing PAT—which resulted in a missed kick and a 21-20 loss.

Moore is back, as is quarterback Matt Corral, and they've been outstanding under new head coach Lane Kiffin. The Rebels are coming off consecutive wins where they put up more than 50 points and are third in the country with 565.4 yards per game.

The Bulldogs were also supposed to be an offensive juggernaut this season with Mike Leach bringing his Air Raid offense to the program. But despite clicking last week against Georgia, Mississippi State's offense has sputtered more times than not this season, ranking 116th in the nation at just 4.5 yards per play.

Although freshman QB Will Rogers has looked more comfortable under center than hyped transfer K.J. Costello, I still haven't seen enough consistency from this Bulldogs offense to think they can keep pace with Ole Miss.

With the Bulldogs 1-5 ATS in their last six games and the Rebels 5-2 ATS in their previous seven contests against teams with a losing record, back the faves to win and cover.

PREDICTION: Ole Miss -9.5 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

With a high-flying offense and a brutal defense, Ole Miss has been crushing Overs this season, going 5-2 O/U. But there's reason to think the total of 67.5 might be a tad too high for this matchup.

Mississippi State has been absolutely awful on offense, averaging just 17.4 points per game, but they have been solid on the defensive side of the ball. The Bulldogs are fourth in the SEC in defense with 366.9 yards per game allowed and have surrendered more than 28 points to just three opponents: perennial powerhouses LSU, Georgia and Alabama.

That combination of ineffective offense and adequate defense has led to the Bulldogs cashing the Under in five of their last six games.

With the Under also going 6-1 in the last seven meetings between these in-state rivals, we're backing it again on Saturday.

PREDICTION: Under 67.5 (-110)

Score Prop Bet

The Rebels have leaked points early in games this season, ranking 96th in the country in first-quarter points allowed with 8.0. They also surrender 5.3 touchdowns per game, which ranks a woeful 127th.

Ole Miss has also been terrible when it comes to red-zone defense, allowing opponents to score touchdowns on 77 percent of all trips inside their 20-yard line.

When you consider that the Bulldogs are coming off a game where they punched in three TDs against a stout Georgia defense, they're certainly worth a wager at +170 to draw first blood via touchdown.

PREDICTION: First score method - Mississippi State touchdown (+170)
