Texas A&M’s rushing attack picked up where it left off in 2025, piling up 236 yards and three TDs in Week 1, while its Top 5 defense held Missouri State to just 67 total yards.
That should put Arizona State in catch-up mode, creating opportunities for QB Cutter Boley to attack.
The Kentucky transfer threw for 387 yards and six TDs in his debut. He held his own last year, keeping games within one score against Top-10 SEC defenses like Auburn, Texas and Mississippi.
I see strong backdoor-cover potential. I’ll take ASU as low as +13.5.

Arizona State vs Texas A&M Over/Under pick: Under 50.5
There will be points, but there won’t be a track meet at Kyle Field.
The Aggies are committed to running the ball, ranking as a Top 3 team in the conference last year at nearly 185 yards per game. Establishing the run and pounding the rock are its trademarks.
Arizona State ranked third in the Big 12 in run defense a year ago, and they’re generally considered solid and gritty under head coach Kenny Dillingham. The Sun Devils will make the Aggies earn their yards.
Boley won’t have nearly as much time and space to pick apart a defense as good as A&M’s, and it’s his first time playing at Kyle Field, a wild and potentially overwhelming experience in front of 100,000 screaming fans.
His coach might try to settle him early with conservative or vanilla play-calling.
It will be close to the number, but this should stay Under the total.

Arizona State has the firepower to at least challenge an A-list SEC school.
After starting the year 11-0 in 2025, the Aggies were stopped by the Texas Longhorns to put an end to their winning streak, before getting held to their lowest point total of the year in a 10-3 loss to Miami in Round 1 of the College Football Playoff.
The Sun Devils will be the first legit level-up opponent since then.
Both teams showed what they could do against lesser opposition, but this should be a more physical matchup that falls Under the total.
