Oregon heads to Boone Pickens Stadium as a 23.5-point favorite against Oklahoma State on Saturday, Sept. 12, at noon ET.
My Oregon vs. Oklahoma State prediction examines whether the Ducks can start fast and cover the hefty spread (spoiler alert: they can).

TOP PICK
Who will win Oregon vs Oklahoma State: Oregon -23.5
I’d invest in the Oregon Ducks up to 25.5 because Oregon will play more like the team we saw in the last three quarters vs. Boise State in Week 1 than the one that struggled in the first quarter.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys got embarrassed in Week 1 of their first full season in the post-Mike Gundy era, losing outright as -13.5 road favorites to a Tulsa team that went 4-8 last season.
While Oregon survived its season opener with the 2025 Mountain West Conference champion Boise State Broncos, winning 34-27, the Ducks were nowhere near covering as -25.5 home favorites.
It’s not like the Ducks played poorly, either. They just weren’t as buttoned-up as the market expected, especially on fourth down, where they went 0-for-3. Oregon still out-gained Boise State 3.7 yards per play and had a 94% postgame win expectancy, per CollegeFootballData.com.

Oregon vs Oklahoma State Over/Under pick: Over 55.5
Oregon is 9-8 Over/Under in non-conference games during the Lanning era.
The Ducks were scoreless after the first quarter last week vs. Boise State but put up 10+ points in the next three quarters. Perhaps they were just nervous or rusty in their first game of the season with championship-or-bust expectations. Either way, I expect better first-half execution from Oregon on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma State’s 10-point effort last week was misleading. The Cowboys moved the ball well, converting 27 first downs vs. Tulsa but were undone by four turnovers.
North Texas had the highest-scoring offense in the country last season under Morris, who brought QB Drew Mestemaker with him to Oklahoma State.
My numbers have Oregon beating Oklahoma State 44-17.
Oregon vs Oklahoma State combo
Points, points and more points. Oregon will pour it on early and often, and Oklahoma State's offense will have a bounce-back effort, relatively speaking, after last week's clunker. Plus, it's the Cowboys' home opener, so they'll be playing hard even if the Ducks have this game all but won in the second half.
