How weather could impact Kentucky vs South Carolina

Kentucky has options if a wet football makes it tougher to throw and catch. C.J. Baxter, Jason Patterson, and Javonte Barnes each rushed for at least 100 yards against South Alabama last week, giving the Wildcats three backs to lean on if showers disrupt the passing game.

South Carolina's Matt Fuller and LaNorris Sellers combined for 184 rushing yards against Alabama last week. Sellers' ability to take off gives the Gamecocks another way to move the chains if slick conditions make it harder to complete passes.

Kentucky vs South Carolina prediction markets

As of Saturday morning, Kalshi's markets had South Carolina favored by 2.5 points with a 53.5-point total and roughly a 56% chance of a Gamecocks victory.

Brad Powers is backing Over 53.5 in his college football Week 5 predictions, arguing the market hasn't caught up to both offenses' improvement under new playcallers. The wet forecast could complicate that outlook if it disrupts the passing games, though both teams can lean on productive ground attacks.
