Will Indiana take Nebraska seriously today after traveling to New Jersey last week and with Ohio State on deck next week?

We’re kicking off our Saturday with an intriguing Big Ten matchup between Indiana and Nebraska. With Ohio State on deck for the Hoosiers, will they take this matchup seriously? Let’s dive into my Indiana vs. Nebraska prediction.

My Week 6 college football picks expect the Cornhuskers to keep today's game competitive from start to finish as a 7.5-point underdog against the Hoosiers, who have yet to be tested by an explosive offense like this. For the full slate, see our Week 6 Top 25 predictions and best bets.

It all kicks off Saturday, Oct. 10, at noon ET on FOX.

 TOP PICK
Who will win Indiana vs Nebraska today? Pick: Nebraska +7.5

Are the Indiana Hoosiers playing underwhelming football to kick off the 2026 season, or are the books putting too much respect on them?

Their record may show 5-0, but they're just 1-4 ATS, a sign this team could be underperforming in the early going. It's worth noting that all of those spreads have been between 20.5 and 57.5 points, a lot to ask even against teams the Hoosiers should beat handily. Are they simply coasting against their weaker opponents?

They did seem to turn on the burners after a close call against Northwestern in Week 4, following that up by covering their first spread of the season with a 47-15 win over Rutgers as a 24.5-point favorite. Now, the Hoosiers have to travel from New Jersey to Lincoln to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers before heading back home to host No. 5 Ohio State in Week 7.

Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers have been at home since returning from East Lansing on Sept. 26. This has look-ahead and tired legs written all over it.

This game should mean a lot more to the Cornhuskers, who are looking to take down the reigning national champions, while the Hoosiers already have their eyes on the horizon. Give me Nebraska +7.5.

Indiana vs Nebraska Over/Under pick: Over 48.5

With the travel, look-ahead spot, and this being a real test for both teams, points should come in bunches.

Both teams are 3-2 to the Over this season, and both offenses can put up points in a hurry. The Hoosiers may have been limiting opponents to under 14 points per game, but the Cornhuskers are easily the best offense they've faced yet, one that's averaging just shy of 50 points per game this season.

Now add in the travel and tired legs, and I expect this game to get ugly in a hurry.

Indiana vs Nebraska combo

Nebraska bringing it offensively correlates nicely with each of the three legs, and if you combo them all together to get your Saturday morning sweat going, you'd get a crispy 5.37x.

Indiana vs Nebraska combo

  • Nebraska +7.5
  • Nebraska first half +4.5
  • Over 48.5

Indiana vs Nebraska prop: Nebraska first half +4.5

The Cornhuskers have been able to score quickly through their first five games this season, averaging 25+ points in the first half. The Hoosiers, on the other hand, have played a much easier schedule and are averaging just under 20 points in the first half this season.

However, Indiana is also allowing the fewest points in the first half, at just 11.5, as it should given its schedule.

Factor in the look-ahead to Ohio State and the trip from New Jersey to Lincoln this past week, and the Hoosiers could come out a bit slow, giving the hometown team a chance to build some early momentum.

Getting above a field-goal cushion in the first half, the Cornhuskers should be able to keep this one close and cover +4.5.
