The Boise State Broncos host the Eastern Washington Eagles on the Blue Turf Friday night.

My Eastern Washington vs. Boise State predictions and college football picks for Friday, September 5, expect plenty of points as the Broncos try to bounce back from a tough Week 1 loss.

Eastern Washington vs Boise State prediction

Eastern Washington vs Boise State best bet: Over 54.5 (-110)

After a frustrating loss on the road to open the season, the Boise State Broncos will be glad to return to the Blue Turf, where they've won 11 consecutive home games.

Expect an effective day from the offense, which managed just seven points against USF but has plenty of talent and will be hungry to prove a point.

The Eastern Washington Eagles also lost their opener, falling 31-21 to a quality Incarnate Word squad. This has long been an offense-first program, producing recent wide receiver stars like Cooper Kupp and Efton Chism.

Naturally, that leads to shootouts — last year, EWU averaged 35.8 ppg on offense but surrendered 36.2 ppg on defense.

The Eagles surrendered 49 points in their lone FBS game last year against Nevada, one of four games on the year in which they allowed 40+ points.

They've faced eight FBS opponents since head coach Aaron Best took over in 2017, and have allowed 50 ppg in those contests.

This program plays a clear style of football, and it does not involve physical or sound defense. It does involve putting points on the scoreboard, so EWU should find some offensive success on the other end.

Eastern Washington vs Boise State same-game parlay

The Big Sky has a knack for pulling off upsets, securing a victory over FBS teams in four straight seasons.

While that’s a long shot to happen here, Eastern Washington possesses enough offensive firepower that it should be live for a backdoor cover if Boise State gets out to an early lead as expected.
