Friday's action is headlined by the Colorado Buffaloes taking on the Houston Cougars.

Unfortunately for Deion Sanders, my Colorado vs. Houston predictions are fading his Buffs against an underrated Cougars squad.

Find out more in my college football picks for Friday, September 12.

Our best Colorado vs Houston SGP for Week 3

Famed Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is obviously a fickle coach, but he seems happy with his decision to start third-string QB Ryan Staub against the Houston Cougars.

Unfortunately for Staub & Co., Houston head coach Willie Fritz has built an imposing defense, starting with the defensive front that already has five sacks this season. The Cougs are also allowing just 3.0 yards per play entering this Week 3 contest.

On the other side of the ball, the Cougars' offense looks balanced and should find success against a Colorado defense that got trampled in the run game by Georgia Tech, and then let a former FCS QB throw it all over the park.

Dean Connors has been the most dynamic back in the Cougars' backfield, carrying the ball 28 times for 182 yards and two scores. Colorado allowed Georgia Tech to rush for 320 yards in its opener, so eclipsing 52.5 yards is extremely doable.

The Cougars should be able to move the ball at will in this matchup. Conner Weigman has thrown four touchdown passes this season, and throwing a pair on Friday night is a great value add to this SGP.

Colorado vs Houston SGP

  • Houston -4.5
  • Dean Connors Over 52.5 rushing yards
  • Conner Weigman Over 1.5 passing TDs (+410)

He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS. The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
