Many looked at the Week 10 slate during the preseason and expected undefeated Penn State to be traveling to Columbus to take on undefeated Ohio State in a Top-5 matchup. Long gone is that dream.

Instead, we're left with a critical Big 12 matchup between Cincinnati and Utah, and some more high-stakes SEC showdowns as the regular season begins to wind down. I pick a side for those matchups in my Week 10 ATS college football picks below.

Expert Week 10 CFB ATS picks

Penn State vs Ohio State (-20.5): Ohio State Ohio State -20.5

This was once a premier game on Ohio State's schedule. It's now just a chance for Ryan Day to kick Penn State while it's down and run up the score, which he'll be intrinsically motivated to do against Jim Knowles.

Vanderbilt vs Texas (-1.5): Vanderbilt Vanderbilt +1.5

Texas was staring a loss to Mississippi State in the face last week before coming on late. Vanderbilt will not afford the Longhorns those late-game chances.

Miami (-11.5) vs SMU: Miami Miami -11.5

Miami's national title prospects have cooled in recent weeks, but its defense should still be able to control a SMU squad that could barely move the ball and scored just 12 points against Wake Forest.

Indiana (-21.5) vs Maryland: Indiana Indiana -21.5

Maryland lost to a UCLA team that Indiana just mollywhopped by 50 points last weekend. All things considered, this spread is more than manageable.

Texas Tech (-7.5) vs Kansas State: Texas Tech Texas Tech -7.5

With Will Hammond now out for the season, a bet on Texas Tech is a bet entirely on its defensive line. TTU will ride its defense and patch together enough offense to pull away.

Georgia (-7.5) vs Florida: Georgia Georgia -7.5

This is the friendliest part of Georgia's SEC schedule, on the road for Florida and Mississippi State before hosting Texas in Week 12. The Bulldogs will not take that for granted; they will handle their business.

South Carolina vs Mississippi (-12.5): South Carolina South Carolina +12.5

South Carolina would not be getting 12.5 points in Oxford had it held on to beat Alabama in a game it largely controlled. I'll take every single one of these points.

Oklahoma vs Tennessee (-3.5): Oklahoma Oklahoma +3.5

This is not a knock on Tennessee. I just have a hard time seeing Oklahoma simply bow out of the SEC race after such a quality start. Take the points if this line stays beyond -3.

Cincinnati vs Utah (-8.5): CincinnatiCincinnati +8.5

Whether or not you see anyone talking about them, the Bearcats are very much in the Big 12 title race and are a play or two away from being undefeated. This is a tough place to play, but Utah has not beaten a team as good as Cincinnati this season.
