Both offenses are cooking, and I’ll trade the total up to 233.5.
The Denver Nuggets were smothered by a healthy Thunder team in the opener, scoring only 84 points. Since then, Denver has averaged the seventh-most points in the Association at 121.5. The Portland Trail Blazers have averaged 119.8 in that same span, good for ninth-most.
Points have been plentiful for opponents too. Over the last four, Portland has allowed the 13th-most points to opponents at 115.8, while Denver has surrendered the 11th-most at 120.
Both teams rank in the Top 10 in Offensive Rating and in the Bottom 15 in Defensive Rating. Three of four head-to-head matchups between these teams went Over last season, averaging 246.3 points and eclipsing 260 points twice.
COVERS INTEL: Volume 3-point shooting should lead to plenty of scoring. Across the last four games, both teams rank in the Top 6 in 3-point attempts, combining to take 29.3 per game. Portland leads the league with 51.9% of its shots coming from beyond the arc, and Denver has allowed opponents to hit 37.7% of triples.
Trail Blazers vs Nuggets combo
Portland is undervalued on the road, and I’ll trade this spread to +2.5.
Ja Morant is out, but the Blazers have one of the deepest backcourts in the Association with Scoot Henderson and Jrue Holiday filling in for Morant. Portland sports capable wing defenders like Toumani Camara, and strong interior defenders in Donovan Clingan and Robert Williams III.
Portland’s depth and ability to both score and defend at a high level give the Blazers an advantage over a Denver team with a thin rotation and exploitable defense.
Damian Lillard is averaging 9.4 3PA and 3.2 3PM this season, and he’s knocked down three triples in three of five games. The Nuggets have allowed the third-most triples (16.5) and third-highest 3-point percentage (40.2%) at home, setting Lillard up with a favorable matchup.

Trail Blazers player prop: Deni Avdija Over 34.5 points + rebounds + assists
Deni Avdija is averaging 35.6 PRA this season, and he’s eclipsed 35 PRA in three of five games. I’ll trade this combo line up to 35.5.
Portland’s do-it-all forward averaged 36.8 PRA and hit the Over three times in four matchups with the Nuggets last season.
Avdija leads the Blazers in minutes, points and assists and ranks third in rebounds. With Ja Morant out, Avdija should see an uptick in scoring and playmaking responsibilities, and he can thrive in a high-scoring road matchup.
Nuggets player prop: Nikola Jokic Over 24.5 points
Nikola Jokic has gotten off to a slow start in the scoring department this season, averaging just 21.2 ppg across five outings. He’s scored 25+ only once, which is why this line is trading at 49%. I project him to score at least 27, so I'll trade this line up to 26.5.
In Denver’s highest-scoring game of the season, a 141-135 win over the Pelicans, Joker posted 35 points. He thrives in high-scoring game environments, as four of his five 40-point efforts last season came in contests with 250+ total points.
I’m projecting a high-scoring game at Ball Arena, which should lead to positive offensive regression for a player who has a higher scoring average at home than on the road.
