The unbeaten Timberwolves face a tough back-to-back in Cleveland, where the rested Cavaliers look poised to cover the spread.

My Timberwolves vs. Cavaliers prediction backs Cleveland to cover -4.5 and bring Minnesota's undefeated start to a screeching halt on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Timberwolves enter 3-0 following Sunday's 117-94 win over Toronto, but they're 4.5-point underdogs for Monday's 7 p.m. ET tip-off at Rocket Arena. I'm taking the Cavaliers to cover in front of their home fans.

Let's dive into my analysis and NBA picks for Monday, Oct. 26.

 TOP PICK
Timberwolves vs Cavaliers prediction: Cavaliers -4.5

I'll be trading the Cleveland Cavaliers at -4.5 up to 55%, even with the Minnesota Timberwolves being the talk of the Association following their 3-0 start.

Much like the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota has looked dominant at both ends of the floor, scoring 119.1 points per 100 possessions while allowing just 96.2. The combination of Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball has delivered the goods thus far, although Monday's tilt in Cleveland should bring them back down to Earth.

Minnesota, unfortunately, was just 1-3 straight up and against the spread in its final four games on no rest last season. Its numbers as an underdog on no rest were even worse, at 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS overall.

The Cavaliers were a league-worst 3-14 ATS when owning a rest advantage last season, but there's still reason for optimism here. For starters, Cleveland is 3-1 SU and ATS in its last four meetings with Minnesota, including two wins at home.

Cleveland is also coming off a win at home on Saturday against the Brooklyn Nets and should really be 2-0 after building a 29-point lead against the Philadelphia 76ers in the season opener, only to squander it. The Cavaliers are still trying to erase the memory of that night, and that should help them catch the Timberwolves off guard in their already fatigued state.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Cleveland is among the league leaders in blocks per game at 8.5 per contest. It was 36-16 SU during both the regular season and playoffs a year ago when finishing with more rejections than its opponent, including 5-1 SU and ATS in its last six outings.

Timberwolves vs Cavaliers combo

My spread pick already calls for a Cleveland victory, so the Cavaliers moneyline is a natural starting point for this combo.

Minnesota and Cleveland have gone Over the total in four straight meetings, five of their last six, and eight of their last 10 dating back to the 2021-22 season.

Donovan Mitchell is averaging 7.5 rebounds through two games, including a double-digit effort versus Philadelphia on Oct. 22. The Timberwolves rank first in opponents' rebounds allowed at 37 per contest, yet tired legs and the All-Star guard going Over 4.5 boards in five of his last eight meetings with Minnesota give me hope for this leg at plus money.

Timberwolves vs Cavaliers combo

  • Cavaliers moneyline
  • Over 233.5
  • Donovan Mitchell Over 4.5 rebounds

Timberwolves vs Cavaliers player props

Timberwolves player prop: Jaden McDaniels Over 14.5 points

I'll be more than happy to trade this points line for Jaden McDaniels up to 55%, as he's demonstrated himself to be the clear-cut No. 3 option behind Edwards and Ball.

McDaniels is contributing 15.3 points on 57.1% shooting through three games, all while attempting the third-most shots on the roster at 11.7 per contest. His efficiency is far greater than that of his backcourt teammates, and with no time to catch their breath after suiting up on Sunday, this two-way sensation could be asked to pick up some offensive slack in Cleveland.

He's averaging 15.2 points in five career meetings with the Cavaliers, bolstered by a 26-point effort last season. This is a true value play at 51%, and one with even higher upside knowing McDaniels went Over this number in three of the last four times he played on no rest in 2025-26.

Cavaliers player prop: Jarrett Allen Over 7.5 rebounds

If all Jarrett Allen needs is eight or more rebounds on Monday, then give me that number all the way up to 60%, with 53% feeling like a steal.

Allen has been a certified double-double machine against Minnesota, registering five in the last six encounters to the tune of 17.2 points and 11.5 boards per game.

That should be difficult to pull off standing opposite a four-time Defensive Player of the Year in Rudy Gobert, yet Allen consistently finds ways to get his numbers.

The 6-foot-9 center is bringing in 7.5 rebounds per game through a small sample size, but his rebounding chances are nearly double that at 14. If the Timberwolves get sloppy offensively, expect to see Allen clean up their mess.
