Lakers vs. Jazz prop: Lauri Markkanen Over 2.5 threes
- Time: 5 p.m. ET
- TV: Spectrum Sports Network, KJZZ-TV
- Analyst: Chris Walder
Player prop: Lauri Markkanen Over 2.5 threes
Utah needs to find ways to pull Walker Kessler away from the basket, and Lauri Markkanen's outside shooting could be the answer. Both Golden State and the Clippers used perimeter-oriented schemes to create space against Los Angeles, an approach that supports Markkanen's Over 2.5 threes in Chris Walder's Lakers vs. Jazz predictions.
Markkanen is averaging eight 3-point attempts through his first two games, and although he's connecting at just 31.3%, the volume remains encouraging. The Jazz forward has averaged at least 7.7 attempts from deep in each of the last four seasons, giving him plenty of opportunities to knock down three or more triples against the Lakers.
Raptors vs. Timberwolves prop: Kawhi Leonard Over 1.5 steals
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- TV: NBA TV, DAZN MIN
- Analyst: Zak Hanshew
Player prop: Kawhi Leonard Over 1.5 steals
Kawhi Leonard has made an immediate defensive impact in Toronto, recording at least three steals in each of his first two games of the season. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year has registered multiple steals in 405 of his 800 career appearances, providing a strong foundation for the Over 1.5 steals selection in Zak Hanshew's Raptors vs. Timberwolves predictions.
Leonard's ability to disrupt opposing offenses should be especially valuable against Minnesota. Toronto leads the NBA in fast-break points, using turnovers to create transition opportunities, and another active defensive performance from Leonard could help the Raptors maintain that advantage.
Clippers vs. Thunder prop: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 3.5 rebounds
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- TV: ClipperVision, KSBI
- Analyst: Chris Walder
Player prop: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 3.5 rebounds
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander isn't typically relied upon to dominate the glass, but his modest rebounding line offers an opportunity in Chris Walder's Clippers vs. Thunder predictions. The reigning two-time MVP is averaging four rebounds through Oklahoma City's first two games, including six in the season opener.
Gilgeous-Alexander has also cleared 3.5 rebounds in two of his last three meetings with the Clippers. Despite sharing the floor with Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein, he's averaging 9.5 rebounding chances early this season, providing enough opportunities to collect four boards against Los Angeles.
