There’s a solid seven-game slate for NBA betting tonight and while the night is headlined by high-profile matchups – Philadelphia 76ers vs. Utah Jazz and Miami Heat vs. Los Angeles Clippers – the best value on the board will actually be found in some of the smaller contests.
Let's dive into those basketball odds in our NBA picks and predictions for Monday, February 15.
NBA picks for today
Chicago Bulls vs Indiana Pacers
When the Pacers beat the Bulls by 19 back in December, Domantas Sabonis had 22 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Sabonis was able to comfortably sit back and pick apart a Chicago team that is now 24th in the NBA in defensive rating. Tonight you should expect more of the same.
Over the last two games, Sabonis is averaging 7.5 assists per game for Indiana, so it’s not like the Pacers have stopped running the offense through him. Also, this Bulls defense is a perfect opponent for good passers, whether that’s guards or big men. Chicago simply blows assignments too often, which means Sabonis will have more than a few opportunities to find some cutters or open shooters.
PREDICTION: Domantas Sabonis Over 5.5 Assists (-140)
Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks
The Hawks have one of the game’s elite rim protectors, as Clint Capela is third in the league in blocks per game at 2.8 a night. However, Capela does tend to struggle when guarding in space, as does PF John Collins, which opens up an opportunity for Julius Randle to have a big game tonight.
Randle is averaging 22.4 points per game this season for the Knicks, and there are now fewer eyeballs on him with New York acquiring Derrick Rose as another scoring option. That means that Randle should get better looks the rest of the season. Randle scored 28 points when the Knicks beat the Hawks earlier in the year, so maybe those better looks will result in an even bigger performance.
Overall, Atlanta struggles against skilled big men, and Randle certainly fits that bill.
PREDICTION: Julius Randle Over 21.5 Points (-110)
Brooklyn Nets vs Sacramento Kings
This season, Joe Harris is averaging 3.3 made threes per game for the Nets, and he now goes up against a Kings team that is last in the NBA in defensive rating. Sacramento is also a Bottom-5 team in opponent 3-point percentage—and that means Harris has a nice matchup tonight.
Not only will the Brooklyn sharpshooter get a couple of good looks in this game, but the team will actually need him to score a bit more this week. Kevin Durant is set to miss a few games for the Nets, so there should be more looks to go around.
PREDICTION: Joe Harris Over 2.5 made threes (-136)
