Cavaliers vs Heat Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NBA Game

The Heat are favorites tonight because the Cavaliers will be missing Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, and Evan Mobley. We're backing the home team on the spread as a result.

Monday's meeting was an instant classic, but tonight's rematch between the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat will play differently.

That game, which ended with a buzzer-beating Andrew Wiggins dunk, may have taken its toll on the Cavaliers, as three starters will be in street clothes on Wednesday, November 12.

My Cavaliers vs. Heat predictions and NBA picks have the Heat winning both ends of this two-game home set.

Cavaliers vs Heat prediction

Cavaliers vs Heat best bet: Heat -6 (-105)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are pretty much punting on this rematch.

Not only is Darius Garland out, but so are All-Star Donovan Mitchell and Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley, for rest.

Mitchell (41) and Mobley (39) logged the most minutes for Cleveland in Monday's 140-138 OT defeat, but this likely has more to do with the schedule, which calls for the Cavs to go back-to-back, hosting the upstart Toronto Raptors on Thursday.

Losing your top two scorers in Mitchell and Mobley stings. Combined with Garland, that’s a whopping 63.4 points, 16 rebounds, and 14.7 assists per game wiped from the lineup, with not a lot behind them to pick up the scoring slack.

That’s especially problematic against the Miami Heat, who currently lead the NBA in scoring, at a blistering 125.5 points per game.

During their current three-game winning streak, the Heat have been even more potent, scoring at least 126 points while averaging 134.

This is the same unit that didn’t have cornerstone franchise guys Bam Adebayo (toe) or Tyler Herro, who has yet to make his season debut as he recovers from offseason ankle surgery. Both are out again tonight.

Even without Bam, the Heat still have six other players scoring in double figures, led by Norman Powell’s 24.5 points per game. Andrew Wiggins (17.8) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (17.5) are right behind Adebayo (19.9) on the scoring list.

The Heat are a perfect 5-0-0 against the spread at home this season.

Cleveland is already 18th in points allowed, and with three of five starters missing for this one, I don’t see them outscoring any defensive deficiencies.

Cavaliers vs Heat same-game parlay

Jaquez finished with 22 points in Monday's win on a crisp 7-for-12 from the field. His scoring line is a reasonable 15.5 points, a number he's crossed three times in four games, missing the fourth by a single bucket.

Powell led the Heat attack with 33 points against Cleveland, including a 4-for-9 performance from beyond the arc.

His make line from 3-point range is 2.5, and Powell has yet to connect on three or more triples in consecutive games this season, so we’ll hit that Under trend for this SGP.

Cavaliers vs Heat SGP

  • Heat -6
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr. Over 15.5 points
  • Norman Powell Under 2.5 threes

Our "from downtown" SGP: De'Andre won't hunt

De’Andre Hunter is the one Cavaliers player who can still offer above-average scoring, but the books have upped his line with the Cleveland stars out. He’s only crossed 24.5 points twice this season, and he’ll be hard-pressed to find that number with the defense keying in on him.

Wiggins has recorded at least one steal in 10 of 11 games this year, with four multi-theft games. Without two of the Cavaliers’ top ball handlers in this game, now’s a good time to take the Over on his steals prop.

Cavaliers vs Heat SGP

  • Heat -6
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr. Over 15.5 points
  • Norman Powell Under 2.5 threes
  • De'Andre Hunter Under 24.5 points
  • Andrew Wiggins Over 1.5 steals

Cavaliers vs Heat odds

  • Spread: Cavaliers +6 (-115) | Heat -6 (-105)
  • Moneyline: Cavaliers +175 | Heat -210
  • Over/Under: Over 238.5 (-110) | Under 238.5 (-110)
