Hollywood Casino 400 field
The only part-time driver participating in the Hollywood Casino 400 is No. 44 J.J. Yeley, so we'll see 37 cars take the green flag on Sunday afternoon.
Kyle Larson, sitting third in the postseason standings while 27 points above the cut line, opened as the +370 betting favorite. Six points above him is Hendrick teammate William Byron, who is +700 to win on Sunday, tied with Ryan Blaney. Denny Hamlin (+600) is listed just a bit shorter.
Of the four drivers sitting below the cut line heading into Kansas, Tyler Reddick is priced shortest at +1100. Ross Chastain is +1400, Bubba Wallace is +2500, and Austin Cindric is a long shot at +4500 prior to qualifying.

Odds listed below courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook as of 9-27.
Hollywood Casino 400 pre-qualifying favorites
Kyle Larson (+370)
Kyle Larson entered May’s Kansas race leading an average of nearly 68 laps per race in his last eight Kansas starts. He went out and won the pole, swept the stages, and led 221 of 267 laps en route to a victory, his third Kansas win (Fall 2021, Spring 2024, Spring 2025).
On intermediate tracks this season, Larson has two wins and was ninth this spring in Vegas, a similar track.
William Byron (+700)
He has eight Top-10 finishes in his last 11 starts at Kansas, including a runner-up last fall. William Byron led 24 laps and finished first and fourth, respectively, in the pair of stages that day.
He leads all drivers with a 9.7 average finish across the last 37 intermediate track races (since February 22) with three overall wins and 16 Top 5s. He led 10 laps and finished fourth this spring in Vegas, netting him six Top-7 finishes in his last seven Vegas starts, too.
Ryan Blaney (+700)
He was fourth last fall and third this spring. Ryan Blaney also has an intermediate track win in Nashville back in June after leading 139 of 300 laps. On top of that, he finished third in Texas this spring and fifth in the Darlington spring race.
He’s had nine Top-8 finishes in the last 10 races, including three consecutive in the Top 4.
Hollywood Casino 400 sleepers
Ross Chastain (+1400)
He won last fall after leading 52 laps and finished fifth in the spring Vegas race for his fifth Top 5 finish in his last seven tries there. Ross Chastain was 18th at Kansas this spring, but did win the “600” in May, the last race on a 1.5-mile package.
Josh Berry (+2800)
Josh Berry finished last in the fall Kansas race, but rebounded to sixth this spring. He did win in Vegas also this spring and crashed while leading in Texas. He was runner-up last week in Loudon.
Alex Bowman (+3000)
The Hendrick Motorsports driver has 12 Top-11 finishes in his last 13 Kansas tries, including results of ninth, fourth, 10th, seventh, sixth, and fifth in his last six. Alex Bowman finished seventh in the spring Vegas race.
Hollywood Casino 400 fades
Denny Hamlin (+600)
I don’t like the odds here. Denny Hamlin was fifth last spring, eighth last fall, and 36th this spring. While he has eight Top-5 finishes in his last 12 Kansas tries, including three wins and a pair of runner-up results in that span, there’s better value elsewhere.
Chase Elliott (+1300)
Elliott was seventh and sixth in the pair of Kansas races in 2023, third and ninth last year, and 15th this spring, giving him 14 Top-12 finishes in his last 16 Kansas starts. He finished 10th in the spring Vegas event in early March. Best used in prop wagers.
Joey Logano (+1400)
He finished 34th and 14th last year in Kansas, ninth this spring and 15th this spring in Vegas. While he has three Top-5 finishes in a row heading into this I don’t trust him here.
Hollywood Casino 400 prop pick: Christopher Bell Top 3 Finish
He has seven Top-8 finishes (eighth, fifth, third, 36th, eighth, sixth, seventh, second) in his last eight Kansas tries. Christopher Bell started on the pole and led a race-high 122 of 267 laps last fall. He also finished 12th in Vegas this year.
Bell has five Top-10 finishes in his last eight Vegas starts, including a fifth-place run in the 2023 spring race and a runner-up the last two fall races, leading 61 laps in 2023 and 155 last year. On intermediate tracks this season, he's finished in the Top 10 in five of the last six starts.
Pick: Christopher Bell Top-3 Finish (+250 at DraftKings)

Kansas Speedway track analysis
Toyota has won seven of the last 12 Kansas races and nine of the last 17.
In last year’s spring race, Toyota had two cars in the Top 5, and 78 combined laps led. In the fall, Toyota had two more cars in the Top 5 with 140 laps led. It also swept all three first-round races in the playoffs.
However, it was Chevrolet that swept the wins in 2024 by two different teams (Hendrick Motorsports, Trackhouse Racing). Chevy had two of the Top-3 finishers in the spring race and went 1-2 in the fall. This spring, Hendrick Motorsports won again, giving the bowties three consecutive Kansas victories.
The closest comparison to this track on the schedule is Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as the drivers who typically excel in the Vegas are also strong at Kansas.
Only five non-Playoff drivers have won a NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race at Kansas Speedway.
Hollywood Casino 400 trends
- Ten of the last 11 Kansas winners have started in the Top 10. Ross Chastain’s 20th-place start last fall is the exception. Sixteen of the last 19 Kansas winners started in the Top 6 rows.
- Kansas race winners scored stage points in every first stage under the stage era, with the exception of the 2022 spring race and last year’s playoff race.
- The eventual race winner finished in the Top 5 in nine of the last 12 second stages.
- Oddly, Kansas race winners have won the second stage only three times (2019 playoff race, May 2022, May 2025).
