Under bettors have made bank on Texas and Cleveland all season, and our MLB betting picks don't see that changing in their respective season finales.

The Texas Rangers and Cleveland Guardians have consistently played in low-scoring games this season.

With Texas missing tons of key bats, and Cleveland managing with an eye towards the playoffs, my Rangers vs. Guardians predictions see more of the same in their regular season finale.

Let’s break it down with my September 28 MLB picks.

Rangers vs Guardians prediction

Rangers vs Guardians best bet: Under 7.5 (-110)

The Texas Rangers and Cleveland Guardians are both Under machines. Only 70 of each team’s games have gone Over the total this season, which equates to a hair more than 43%.

Their numbers have actually trended further downwards of late. The Rangers and Guardians have played in only three Overs spanning their last 10 games.

I don’t see much reason to expect fireworks in the season finale, either.

The Rangers have nothing to play for and are without key bats like Corey Seager, Wyatt Langford, and Marcus Semien due to injuries.

They are likely to struggle producing offense against Logan Allen, who has quietly held opponents to two runs or fewer in four of his past five home starts.

Conversely, the Guardians clinched a playoff spot on Saturday. While a win would help them hold off the Tigers for the AL Central title, they’ll surely be managing with an eye towards the postseason.

That could lead to resting players or removing them from the game early if it looks like it is somewhat in hand.

This has all the makings of a tame, low-scoring season finale.

Rangers vs Guardians same-game parlay (SGP)

The Guardians are playing for something while the Rangers are not. The Guardians are healthy while the Rangers are not. They also have a pitching advantage with Logan Allen taking on Patrick Corbin, who owns a 4.17 FIP over the last 30 days. There are a lot of advantages for the home side.

Angel Martinez is a priority target for me among Guardians players. He has feasted on left-handed pitching this season and the splits very much favor him against Corbin. Not to mention, as a 23-year-old with 181 MLB games to his credit, he is less likely to be rested or pulled early than a veteran like Jose Ramirez.
