Randy Arozarena has hit left-handed pitchers well this season and draws a struggling lefty in Jeffrey Springs on Saturday night.
It’s a good spot to jump on the Arozarena train, which is why he headlines three MLB player props for August 23.

Our 3 best MLB player props for Saturday, August 23
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Mickey Moniak Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI
Mickey Moniak has hit right-handed pitching well this season. He’s sporting a .262 batting average with a .256 ISO and 35 extra base hits. While his numbers have definitely been propped up by playing home games at Coors Field, he’s still worth backing against Mike Burrows and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Burrows throws a ton of fastballs against left-handed bats, and Moniak has proven well-equipped to handle them. Moniak owns a rock-solid .257 average and .230 ISO against fastballs thrown by righties, hitting seven homers to boot.
This game features an 8.5 total, and the Colorado Rockies team total of 3.5 is juiced to the over in most spots. They are expected to score a chunk of runs, and I like Moniak’s chances of getting in on the fun.

Prop #2: Andy Pages Over 0.5 singles
This line feels very generous. Andy Pages has a .287 average against left-handed pitchers this season, but has managed only a .113 ISO, meaning he’s generated little power. Lots of contact and low power is a good recipe for singles.
That undoubtedly plays a big part in Pages recording a single in 60% of games he’s faced a left-handed starting pitcher. Pages has also generated singles at a much higher clip on the road, where he’s gone over in 57.4% of his games.
As an added bonus, Pages owns averages of .256, .300, and .375 against Nester Cortes’ three most-used pitches. This is an excellent matchup for him to snap his three-game singles drought.

Prop #3: Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI
Randy Arozarena has generated a lot of offense against left-handed pitching, hitting .261 with a .225 ISO. Both of those numbers are much better than what he’s managed vs. righties.
Jeffrey Springs throws a ton of fastballs, which should play into the hands of Arozarena. He has a .250 average and .281 ISO vs lefties when facing the fastball this season.
Springs has allowed nine earned runs over eight innings of work the past two starts and now draws an improved Seattle Mariners offense that ranks 6th in WRC+ since July 1.
Not to mention, Arozarena has averaged 2.4 H+R+R in wins this season, and the Mariners are heavily favored in this game.
